Welcome 2019!

2019!!

Here's how Jack and Baxter (the black lab we're sitting for this week) brought in the new year. Hubs and Maggie are still at a party a few doors down, but Jack decided he was done around 11pm. He wanted to watch Wreck It Ralph and stay up til midnight. While he almost made it, I looked over at about quarter to 12 and saw them both sawing logs. Good night, and happy new year <3 <3

That is pretty much how my NYE went as well with my chocolate lab on the sofa and fast asleep before midnight.
:-) (*hubby doing the same in his chair)

"Sawing logs" is a new expression for me ... lol! I assume that means "being asleep"?

I loved Wreck-It Ralph. Did you see the second movie? It was pretty good but the original is still my favorite of the two.

:D Yup - I think 'sawing logs' specifically is the sound of snoring (which they weren't). Jack saw the second one with hubs and loved it. Hubby agreed with you (the original was better). I haven't seen the new one, but I think there's a cultural reference issue too (hubs doesn't know the you-tubers and such who were put in the second movie).

My kids made it to midnight this year to see the ball drop. First year they've been able to keep from falling asleep. We spent the evening watching episode of a Series of Unfortunate Events on Netflix. Maybe next year Jack and Baxter will see the ball drop. Hope you all have a wonderful New Year and lots of great memories are made in 2019!
