Stitch Fix - Fix #11

First of all, I realize I'm missing a Fix review somewhere. I don't know which one. I just realized that when Stitch Fix sends me a new box, they say "Thanks for letting us style Fix #11 for you. Enjoy." (for example). Which is how I figured out that my blog calls this Fix #10, but my letter says #11. I'm betting on Stitch Fix keeping better records than me, and so I probably just missed one. Sorry.

On to the main event! Since I've gotten the Style Pass this year, I'm scheduling a Fix every month! :O Reviews are getting hard to keep up with (not a bad #firstworldproblem to have).

In this fix, I received two tank tops, a pair of shorts, a pair of skinny jeans, and a cardigan. Don't tell my stylist, but I'm a total sucker for cozy cardigans. This Fix was again styled by Julia, and she did a great job.

First I tried on the Skies Are Blue - Ritta Smocking Detail Blouse (cost $54) with the Lila Ryan - Skinny Jean (cost $98). Remember, if I keep it all, I get a 25% discount on everything.
I did like both pieces, but not for the prices on them. The jeans were a little too skinny and I already have a Kut From the Kloth pair of skinnies that I LOVE. And hubby prefers more fitting tops as he says they're more flattering on me.
So these both went back.

Next up was the Market & Spruce - Ezide Textured Print Top in navy (cost $58) with the Dear John - Josephine Roll Cuff Short in mint (cost $64). I've seen these colors paired a lot so far this year, so it must be a popular-ish thing. I also like them together, which is more important than being popular to me. It's hard to see the detail on this top in the picture, but it's definitely textured, which looks more interesting than just the navy top that appears here. I kept both of these items because they fit me well, were flattering, and will also pair well with a lot of other things I have. I've already worn this outfit again on a regular day (after work clothes, of course).

Last but not least was just adding on the Evolution by Cyrus - Leesa Hooded Cardigan (cost $88). Yeah, on the pricey side for me, but trust me, I get a ton of wear out of cardigans. And the hood was just another plus. This is a super smooth knit that doesn't snag as much as some of my other cardigans (of course I have a collection!). I also like the off-white color. I have a white cardigan that I love, but it's definitely looking dingy over time. Whitening it again works for a little while, but I'm hoping the off-white will stay 'fresh' looking longer.

Overall, this was a very successful Fix. If I had more disposable income for clothes, I totally could have seen keeping the other two items.

Stitch Fix - Fix #9

Whew! Now that I'm getting a Fix at the beginning of every month, I feel like I'm always supposed to be posting about one! Julia is my current  stylist, and she had this all sent to me at the beginning of March. Both of the kids got subscription clothing boxes in March as well, so you'll be seeing all of us in the next week :)

I also feel like I need to apologize for the pictures. I don't remember who took them this month, but I just downloaded them and I'm really not too happy. I hate when the darn doorknob shows on the bathroom doors behind me, and I think my eyes were closed in two out of three of the pictures on this post. I never look at them right then because I don't like pictures of myself, so I'm now way too lazy to go back and re-take them. Sorry.

This first item pictured is the Chaplin Hooded Anorak Cargo Jacket in pink from 41 Hawthorn (cost $88). I loved the color, the style with all the pockets, and the fit, but I just kept a blue spring jacket last spring. I can't justify another one for almost $100. If I'd gotten this one first, or both at the same time (which would have been silly), I'd have kept this one, but the blue one is a year old in my closet, so it stays, and the pink one has gone back to StitchFix.

Next up is the Rylynn Camo Crewneck Knit Top from Olive & Oak (cost $54), with the Carolyn Legging in black from Liverpool (cost $79). Neither of them was striking enough to justify the cost. I had asked for leggings to go with a dress I got in an earlier fix (oops, doesn't seem to be posted on my blog!), and that was what Julia had in mind for these leggings, but the dress was a super-dark navy blue, and the leggings are black. I very seldom wear black with blue (other than denim), and I have plain black leggings already that cost much less. The shirt here was okay, but nothing I really loved about it. They both went back.

But don't worry - this Fix does have a happy ending!

While I think my eyes are closed again, this was my favorite outfit from this Fix, and I've already worn it several times. This is the Boylen Flap Pocket Button Down Shirt in blue (cost $68) and the Dayna Distressed Skinny Jean (cost $88), both from Kut from the Kloth. The jeans are the perfect skinnies, that feel snug but not uncomfortable when I put them on. They also reach all the way to my feet, which at 5'8" tall, I love! And the shirt is a super soft flannel. The sleeves can be snapped up, but spring has not arrived in Michigan yet. The snaps that close the front of the shirt are also a unique feature instead of buttons. Both pieces are comfortable and flattering, so I kept them.

You see how much fun I have with StitchFix each month - why haven't you tried it? OR, what's been your favorite thing to get? You can try it here and we both get a bonus! As a thank-you, your $20 styling fee is waived on your first box, so there's really no risk!

Stitch Fix - Fix #8

Last month I got the invite for a Style Pass and I couldn't pass it up! While no one knows the criteria for sure, a Style Pass is a special invite directly from Stitch Fix that lets you pay a $49 fee and get unlimited fixes for a year!
Usually, you pay a $20 styling fee with each box you get. The money still goes toward anything you keep from the box, but I never saw a point in getting a box unless I planned to buy something, so I wouldn't lose my $20. Now? I paid my $49 (and applied it toward items from this first box I got on my Style Pass) and scheduled to get a new box each month. If I keep something, that's fine. If I don't keep anything, I send it back in the postage paid envelope and I'm not out anything. Yay!

For my first box on my Style Pass, I said in my note that my daughter and I were getting ready to attend a baton competition in Orlando, Florida, and visiting Disney World, so I needed casual, comfortable clothing for warmer weather. I don't always wear shorts in summer, and also enjoy skirts and dresses, but casual shoes sometimes stumped me for these outfits. My stylist delivered!

The first couple items I tried on were the Eileen Honeycomb Texture Knit Tank from Pixley (cost $54) with the Dear John - George Cargo Shorts in taupe (cost $58). The knit texture of the shirt was very comfy. While I usually like nay and mint together as colors, this mint on the shoulders seemed a little out of place to me. When I tried on again for hubby to see, it didn't really matter; he didn't like the fit of the tank and said it was 'old-ladyish.' I've got some news for him - no one will be confusing me for a teenager any time soon. Hahaha.... Anyway, I decided to keep the shorts (love them!) and send back this tank. While my husband definitely doesn't tell me what to wear, he does see me pretty regularly, so spending that much on a shirt I know he doesn't really like seems silly.

Next up I left on the shorts, but switched out for the Sam Hi-Lo Short Sleeve Tee from Mix by 41 Hawthorn (cost $34) and added the SeaVees - Monterey Canvas Lace Up Sneakers in red (cost $68). While the shoes seemed pricey for something more cute than comfortable, I decided to keep them. I did end up wearing them around Disney for one day, but then switched back to my regular tennies that have more arch support and less canvas rubbing spots. I do love their style, though, and will certainly wear them with casual skirts/dresses and shorts this summer. The shirt was similar in style to some I already have, but super soft. I liked the fit and feel of this one, but decided against it to try and keep my spending under control. I figure I'll be buying at least one t-shirt as a souvenir, right?

Last but not least is this unique maxi dress. It's the Nikita 2fer Knit Maxi Dress from 41 Hawthorn (cost $78). I loved the style, but I didn't like the view of my back fat. Haha.. Hubby thought it looked fine, but I would have been uncomfortable. I loved that it completely covered bra straps and was stretchy and comfortable. I'm not sure if going up a size would have made it more flattering - I think that's just a bad peek-a-boo spot for me. So I sent it back.

Overall, keeping two out of five items in a fix wasn't too bad. Remember if I'd kept all five items, I would get 25% off of the total cost. But since this was my first box on my Style Pass, I had already paid $49 toward what I chose to keep.

Stitch Fix - Fix #7

I received my most recent box from Stitch Fix in mid-July. They had offered me a free styling and of course I couldn't pass that up! Apparently the free stylings go to a stylist that initiated it, or something? While my last few fixes have been put together by Kat, this time my note says I was chatting through email (when I said, "Sure! I'd love a free styling!") with Meagan, but then Linzie put the box together for me.

For laughs, I'll tell you now that I think I was grumpy (or feeling broke) when the box came in. Reviewing it again now, I daresay there's more I would have worn if I'd kept it. Hahaha...

This shirt still isn't wowing me though. This is the Maygen Flutter Sleeve Cupro Knit Top from Coin 1804. I liked the feel of the fabric, and the nifty criss-cross detail that my stylist said matches a shirt I had pinned on my Pinterest board. But, I felt the actual shape of the shirt was almost too flowy and ended up not very flattering. I sent it back, and I'm still glad I did. The retail value was $54.

This outfit is what I kept from the fix. I had specifically asked for shorts, and mentioned that I love the fit of the Kut from the Kloth pants I'd received so far. These are the Trent Frayed Hem Shorts from Kut from the Kloth (retail value $68) paired with the Prinsloo Ruffle Neck Blouse from 41Hawthorn (retail value $58). I actually wore these two together the day after my fix was received when we had company over for my daughter's birthday. The style of the blouse brought the cut-off shorts up a notch. It could easily be paired with a skirt or dressier slacks for a totally different outfit. The shorts (according to my husband) are a great fit, with a little edgier styling than most of my old-lady summer clothes. LOL (No, he didn't actually refer to my wardrobe as 'old-lady.')

You may want to make a note of this picture. I usually cut my feet off in pictures, because...feet.
Looking at these Ethan Woven Gladiator Sandals from Report Footwear again, I could actually see myself wearing them. But with a $60 retail pricetag and no arch support, I sent them back. But somehow my feet don't look as icky as I see them in my mind. Go figure.

And this is the dress I now look at and say, "Huh. Maybe hubby was right and I would have gotten some mileage out of this dress..." When I first tried it on, it felt like it was clinging in all the wrong places. But seeing it on, I guess it wasn't that bad. Too late now! The length and the fit on the Jes Faux Wrap Knit Maxi Dress from Le Lis (retail value $78) were adequate. I suppose the deciding factor was really the lack of occasion for me to wear a dress, and the price tag. We did have a wedding coming up, but I figured I already had a few dresses in my closet that don't get much wear. (I ended up wearing the same dress I wore to my high school reunion - 10 years ago. It was fine.)

Overall, when the time for decisions came, I kept just two items from this box. Looking again now, I'm either more forgiving of how I look, feeling rich, or in the mood to shop. It wouldn't be hard to convince me to keep the other three, but that time has passed.

I'm excited to start getting out some more of my fall and winter clothes from Stitch Fix. They definitely set me up with some nice and cozy outfits last year that will be perfect again as Michigan cools off.

Stitch Fix - Fix #6

Yay for Kat as a stylist again! I told her how much I loved all the Kut from the Kloth pants I had so far, mentioned that I'm *still* always cold in Michigan, but I'd be thrilled to bring in some spring-ish looks to brighten things up. She delivered!

When I said 'spring,' Kat heard me! Love this Rilo Button-Up Blouse from Collective Concepts. It's definitely sheer, and I'm wearing it hear with a coral colored camisole. I've since worn it with a grey camisole too and it showed up the print on the shirt a bit more. The sleeves can also cuff and button up to about elbow-length. I kept it and love it as a transition piece into spring. It's like my skin is still 'covered,' but light enough for warmer weather.

I'm wearing the Rilo here with the Kate Boyfriend Jean from Kut from The Kloth. Completely love them! Probably not super flattering, but I don't look at that much. The fit is so comfy! My muffin is not squished in these bad boys. I did notice last time I did laundry that I apparently have removed them at least once without unbuttoning them. So they definitely are not tight. Since the rest of my old jeans are not this great, I find myself planning ahead to have these clean and ready to wear for special events. I kept them and want more just like them.

This sweater is kind of magical. I will always wear it with my pearls, because it looks so business in the front, while there's a party in the back! Woo-hoo!

This is the Chaley Split Back Pullover from Leo & Nicole. If I were 20 years younger, it may work without something underneath, but I'm not. The maroon camisole is my own. I've worn it with a lighter color camisole underneath as well. It is a pretty light knit and I'm sure I'll wear it into the summer. I kept it.

Those are also the new jeans, if you can see anything different from this angle ;)

I've heard marvelous things about 'dolman' tops for so long, I was excited to finally receive one in this fix. And wow. This thing is universally flattering! The snug fit at the waist is low enough to hold it all in place, without hugging anything I'd rather keep hidden. My only complaint is the wide neckline. Maybe it's just a pet peeve, but I really hate when my bra strap shows, and I'm of the build that I will never go without a bra.

This is the Queensland Dolman Jersey Top from 41Hawthorn. The jersey material is super soft, and the whole torso area of the shirt is super flattering. The sleeves also stay where I put them. I kept the shirt. I'm wearing it here with a pair of black skinny jeans.

Last but not least, I received the Dobi Cargo Jacket from Laju. I love the canvas weight, and the super convenient chest pockets, as well as classic side pockets. I have plenty of room for my phone, reading glasses or sunglasses, and my keys. Personally, I could use a bit more length in the sleeves, but luckily I don't really wear a spring jacket for a lot of warmth. While I wouldn't have bought this off the rack (I do love sleeves that go all the way to my hands), I kept it and have already gotten a lot of wear out of it.

Overall, another great fix from Kat! I've kept it all and worn it at least a few times already. Have you tried Stitch Fix yet? Join at my link and we both get a bonus! stitchfix.com/referral/6629118

Stitch Fix - Fix #5

Thanks to Kat for another great fix! While this was admittedly slightly 'less-favorite' than my last fix, I still kept it all and have loved wearing three pieces in real life so far.

First up was the fabulous Karen Printed Straight Leg Pant from Erica Taylor (regular retail $88). These pants are interesting, and I'm excited to schedule an actual event to wear them to. They aren't really leggings, but are tighter at the top, ending in a straight leg. The pattern is sort of like a red and black houndstooth, but they're textured rather than just printed. They also remind me of my favorite 'old lady' shorts from my fix back in January or February - no zippers or buttons, just pull up.
Here, the pants are paired with the Moana Elbow Patch Pullover by RetroD (regular retail $64). I LOVED the two RetroD sweaters in my last fix and was thrilled to receive another one. This one is a bit looser of a cut/style, and when I wore it the other day I had an annoying issue with it sliding down my shoulder and revealing my bra strap. Ugh. Hopefully I'll get some of the layering turtlenecks on my holiday wish list so I can layer it instead.
The accent necklace in this outfit is the Emilia Oval Pendant from Bay to Baubles (regular retail $28). Jewelry isn't my favorite, but the price point made it a definite keep. It does look really nice with this sweater.

For my second outfit, I'm wearing the Lawler Two Pocket Top by Skies are Blue (regular retail $58). I absolutely love the print and colors on this. It is super flattering with my regular old jeans. This was a first-pick for a scheduled date night last week, but Michigan weather canceled the whole thing for us. I was also a bit dismayed to realize the button at my bustline came undone partway through the day. I hope it was a one-off, and I'm not being reminded why I haven't worn button-down shirts in years. And I hope it doesn't need ironing, because I'd like to wear it often ;)

My final piece in this fix was the Goodwin Cowl Neck Sweater by Fate (regular retail $64). I've paired it here with a new LuLaRoe Cassie skirt I won online from SHOP LuLaRoe with Jeannie and Sarah. The sweater was admittedly my least favorite clothing article from my fix, but then I realized it has pockets! I love pockets! The sweater is a super smooth knit that I'm worried will pick up lots of lint and cat-hair, but I haven't worn it in real life yet. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I don't usually get my fixes so close together, but I'm happy with everything I received again. The big holiday contest is what persuaded me to order again so soon - I hope I win some extra Stitch Fix credit!

Stitch Fix - Fix #4

I knew I'd be back for another Fix, and as we head into fall, I figured I need something besides all of my LuLaRoe leggings to keep me warm! My note to my stylist this time mentioned that I'd love some olive green cargo pants, and a cozy cardigan in a darker color. I also mentioned that I do have lots of leggings, so I'm always looking for longer shirts and sweaters. My stylist, Kat, hit it out of the park and I'm keeping it all.

The first item I tried on from my box was this Rockdale Pullover Sweater from RD Style. It's a light knit in a great olive color. The regular retail is $68. I like this sweater so much, I'm planning to keep it clean and new for our family holiday picture in a couple weeks. I did order a few camisoles from Amazon after deciding to keep this sweater, as it's not sewn all the way down the sides (by design). No one wants a glimpse of profile mummy-tummy here.
My stylist also mentioned that the light weight of this knit makes it perfect for layering under a cardigan or coat. I'm wearing my own LA Idol jeans in this picture.

Next up were the Kut from the Kloth Brigitta Cargo Skinny Pant in Olive (regular retail $88), and the Market & Spruce Evella Boatneck Top (regular retail $64). The pants are ankle-length, which might sort of bug me if we weren't well on our way into boot season. I can't get into the booties and bare ankles thing. Makes me cold just to see someone else's poor ankles out in the elements. LOL Otherwise, I have another pair of Kut from the Kloth pants and knew I'd be pleased with the fit - I was right. The Evella Boatneck  Top has great detail at the bottom (like a layered shirt), and on the inside of the shirt cuffs. This shirt was my least favorite item in the box since it's less versatile (I'll probably just wear it with regular pants or jeans), but with all the love in this box, that isn't saying much. They're both keepers.

Per my stylist's suggestion, I next tried layering the RD Style Kalin Draped Cardigan (regular retail $68) over the previous outfit. I seriously have a white (ish) cardigan I wear a lot of the time. It's so old, the white is questionable at this point. I love having a new cozy cardigan in a more stable color. There are even little pockets at the front - yay!! It's also long enough to be great for layering with another shirt and my many leggings.

Last but definitely not least is the RD Style Jana Poncho Pullover. It retails for $78. See, I already have an incredibly comfy poncho that was hand-knit for me by my mom. I wear it a ton, and almost feel a little guilty having another poncho to love. The style of this poncho is interesting in that it has quite structured sleeves, and the poncho and cowl neck seem almost like an overlay to the sleeves, if that makes any sense. The sleeves also help the body of the poncho be a little more form fitting. I definitely can't wear it as a stand-alone top, but if I knew I was leaving it on all day in the spring or fall, I could opt for a lighter short-sleeved top, as the sweater is pretty modest on its own.

Overall, I really liked this whole Stitch Fix box. The full retail was $366, but once I deduct my $20 styling fee (already paid), and my 25% discount for purchasing all five items, I get everything for $254.50! It'll probably be my big fall/winter purchase for clothes, and I'm happy with that.

Stitch Fix - Fix #3

I finally got another Fix. I have to admit, while I do need clothes for a conference at the end of the month, the real reason I finally scheduled a Fix is because they were waiving my $20 styling fee. So, win-win!

So the strongest 'requirement' for my conference is to have a black dress for our 'Breakfast at Tiffany's.' And I actually get a silver Tiffany's bracelet onstage during this one. My stylist noted that most of the rockabilly or vintage black dresses I had pinned on my Pinterest board weren't a style she had available, so she picked this classic Adrianna Papell Tallulah Dress (retail $98) for me.
Meh. I felt sort of like a stuffed shirt. The lacy detail was nice, but really hard to see. Hubby says the look on my face says it all. LOL

The dress went right to the return bag. Not really sure what I'll wear to the event, but luckily black is sort of a wardrobe staple for me.

I really wanted to like this outfit. I'd also mentioned to the stylist that pink, black, and white are sort of basic colors of the company for which I'm attending the conference. A wrap shirt like this Skies are Blue Capaldi Surplice Cross Front Fitted Knit Top (retail $54) is usually flattering on me, and I do like pencil skirts - the colors in the 41Hawthorn Blanche Sweater Knit Skirt (retail $58) were perfect!

I'll admit I've put on a little weight, but I look like a stuffed sausage to me in this outfit. The shirt just isn't flattering at all, and the straight skirt (seems simple enough) kind of buckled in the front when I moved. My regular brand of straight skirt doesn't do this in any of their fabrics. Quite disappointing.

Both of these items went to the return bag as well.

And here's that shirt again. Boy, I really wanted to like that. This time it's paired with the Dear John Finnegan Cuffed Shorts (retail $58) and the Pixley Kiata Embroidered Lace Collarless Jacket (retail $88).

I have to reiterate again that the stylist (Frances, by the way) was really paying attention to my note! I mentioned that the conference rooms were typically cold at these events, and I'd love a new, less bulky cardigan to stay comfortable.

On paper, this sweater should have been great! But on, it was a very textured lace, and I was worried about snagging it on things. After paying that much for something, I want to be able to wear it, relax, and enjoy, not watch for chairs or corners coming too close. I put it into the return bag.

The shorts were another item that just scared me about my body. I liked the way they looked on (mostly), but I felt like I was stretching that waist to the limit. Back they go!

Overall, I kept nothing, and the Fix really has me questioning my own assessments of my size and style. I've since gone back to my profile to update how I like things to fit. I probably sabotaged myself with my item requests - they may not have been things that really fit my changing body.

As an average though, out of 15 total Fix items, I've kept six. That's almost half. I'm sure I'll try again another time. ;) Want to try your own Fix? I'd love it if you'd use my referral link and get us both a bonus! https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/6629118

Stitch Fix - Fix #2

Folks, we have a winner! I'm keeping everything from this fix. I requested stuff for warmer weather, since the kids and I are taking a little vacation to Florida. Frances (my stylist for this box) delivered!

Not thrilled with my pictures, incidentally. I had my hair in a pony-tail all day, so when I took it down..ugh. And I think it was close enough to bedtime for the kids that I'm not exactly wearing my happiest face ;) Sorry. On with the fashion show!

Here we have the 41Hawthorn Shalley Split Neck Blouse paired with the Kut From The Kloth Mattie Capri Jean. I have another pair of Kut From The Kloth pants, so I sort of expected to like these. I was not disappointed. Super versatile as a 'jean' can be, but the white dresses them up a smidge and makes them summery. Yay! Hopefully they wash up well - I'm optimistic about keeping them white while being with kids all the time.

I don't think I have many sleeveless tops, but I decided this is flattering on. The bright pink in the pattern is great, while still having a darker navy base which is more in line with most of my wardrobe. I also love that all the tops the stylist picked for me are flowing and cover my 'mummy tummy.' And as stated in my stylist's note, this top would also go well with a pair of denim boyfriend jeans.

Sticking with the Kut From The Kloth pants, I also received the Colette Agather Printed Halter Knit Top. When I first looked at my style cards, I thought this was polka-dotted, and my stylist mentioned that she chose it in part because I have a polka-dotted dress on my Pinterest. But it's a dark blue shirt with little white hearts! Love, love, love! I think I'll wear this outfit for Valentine's day this weekend. This is a knit instead of a blouse, and while I'm not 100% comfortable with my bra strap showing, a quick visit to the local mall shows that nearly everyone else is, so I'm trying to go with the flow and quit being so self-conscious ;)

Again, love the long, flowing length and shape of this top. The halter style also keeps it somewhat flattering to my aging, not-muscular arms. My stylist mentions that it will also easily dress up or down between sandals for the beach, or wedges for a night out.

This last outfit includes a bit of a surprise for me. It's the Collective Concepts Rover Zip Back Racerback Blouse with the Margaret M Felicity Printed Short. The blouse is one I'm surprised I didn't already have one like. Black, and of a length that I may be able to get away with it with my camo leggings too. Comfy and flowing for the win!

As I went to pull the shorts on, I saw there was no zip/button/fastener, just a lot of stretch and a bit of a panel to help it all lay flat in the front. Yay for old lady shorts!! They're a little high-wasted, but so comfortable and flattering! The black and white pattern could go with nearly any solid-colored top that goes at least to the top of my hips. A little longer than I'm used to, but the fit is great, and the stretch lends itself to doing anything casual or a bit dressed up in these!

Are you not a Stitch Fix customer yet? Get on board! You pay a $20 styling fee, but that then applies to anything you purchase from your box. There are no postage charges for you getting the box to you, or anything you don't like being sent back. For someone like me who has a hard time shopping with kids always in tow, it's a great way to try on some new clothes, and even style them with what's already in your closet, since you're at home ;) I don't expect to always keep all five items, but I got lucky this time, and half the packing for my Florida trip is DONE!

Stitch Fix - Fix #1

Seriously, am I the last one to receive a Stitch Fix box? I may be proof of the old marketing advice that a person has to hear something like 11 times before they take action ;) But I finally did! Here's my first five items - Fix #1. My stylist was Lindsay.

I kept one shirt and sent the rest back. That's sort of where they get you - once I'd paid the $20 styling fee, I wanted to apply it to SOMETHING! But I do really like the shirt I chose to keep. A box is sort of like layway - you've already paid $20 of the price of something, so what's left looks much more manageable.

This is the Leila Dress from Loveappella. When I first looked at what was in my box, this was my favorite. I pictured wearing it with my favorite LuLaRoe black leggings and my black boots.

But then I tried it on. While the fit was technically good, the print and where it clung to me made me look bigger than I am. It was kind of disconcerting, and I easily decided to send it back.

I had several asymmetrical sweaters on my Pinterest board, which is why my stylist said she picked this for me. She also said it's 'on trend' this season. It's the Alan French Terry Asymmetrical Zip Cardigan from Market & Spruce.  I loved the idea of it.

Once I tried it on, it seemed kind of thick. It was rather sloppy on my when it was unzipped, but seemed bulky zipped up. While pockets are usually a plus in my book, these just seemed to add more to a sweatshirt/sweater that was already too much. Back it goes!

The Mystree Chamberlin Striped Drape Front Cardigan looked fun. I liked the colors, and it felt very cozy on. Unfortunately it was not nearly as flattering as it was cozy.

I'm not sure if this was something that may have been better if I sized down a bit so it was more fitted/less sloppy, but I really didn't love it enough to go to the hassle. Into the return bag!

This is the Edmond Chevron Print Henley Shirt from Pixley. While I liked the cut, fit, and amount of cleavage shown, it really just didn't strike me as something special. I feel like some shirts I got last summer (for half the price) were comparable. I can't say that I didn't like this shirt, I just didn't like it enough. I sent it back.

The Skies are Blue Avena Split Neck Top ended up being my very favorite once I'd tried everything on.

I've always said plaid was my favorite color, and this shirt is like plaid with a twist. Without it being flannel, I feel a little more dressed up or put together wearing it. It's very light weight. I think the cut is flattering, and like that it's long enough in the back to cover my butt so I'll wear it with my skinny jeans (shown) or a pair of dark blue lettings. In the spring/summer, it will also go well with a khaki colored pair of capris or a skirt.

I'm keeping this shirt. I don't know if I'd spend the money on it wandering through a store, but I already have $20 invested, and I love the convenience of it showing up at my door so I can try it on in the privacy of my own home, and see how it goes with things I already have.

Thanks Stitch Fix!

I'll be getting my next Fix early in February while I prepare for a spring-ish Florida trip. I'll be sure and let you all know how I like it!
