Cold outside - TV time for me!

Hubby likes doing the outdoorsy stuff. Luckily he also likes taking pictures ;) Thanks to him for the fabulous post the other day when he took Maggie out sledding!

Myself, I'd rather stay inside when it's this cold and snowy out. I actually haven't left the house since...Monday. And that was just because Maggie was having a very fussy day. I finally went the, "Maybe she'll sleep in a moving car," route, and it worked. Tomorrow we'll actually leave again. *Gasp*

Inside time is thankfully coinciding with good TV shows coming back on in my world. 24 has been a favorite since the first season, so I'm thrilled that Jack is back! I also loved the first two seasons of Rock of Love, so Rock of Love Bus is a brand new adventure (although I haven't yet seen last weekend's episode, since it overlapped with the 24 premier).

Another classic that I can usually wile away hours in front of are the rehabilitation center shows. Intervention is admittedly my favorite, but I've also been known to get sucked into Celebrity Rehab a time or two.

Honestly, I don't watch nearly as much TV as many people I know. After giving up TV for Lent in my junior year of high school (even though I've never been Catholic), I never really got back into it. Little did I know the benefit this could have for the rest of my life! I gave soda up the next year, but now I don't go a day without Cherry Coke - go figure!

Ya know, there's nothing on the list I 'can't stand.' And only one that I've seen every episode of (I have also seen every episode of Dark Angel). I'm just not much of a TV person, I suppose...

Timing is Everything :(

Our cable went out on Friday. By 'out,' I mean it's not longer connected to the pole, and is instead out on our deck like a useless cable snake.
Ordinarily, this wouldn't be a big problem. After all, I only watch one show, two if I happen to be free on Monday night for Intervention. But my one true TV love currently is Rock of Love 2. Oh, yeah. The same show that had it's season finale last night.
And last night, unfortunately, can also be defined as the night BEFORE we get our cable back. Yikes!

So I had it TiVo-ed for me. But I'm way too impatient. I think it took me about 37 seconds after I got online to find the spoiler from the finale. And the right girl won :) I've read about 12 recaps of last night's finale, in a couple of different languages (just kidding - I'm uni-lingual). So do I bother watching the finale at my brother's house? I'll probably just wait for the reunion show next week.
Any big moments I need to see on the show, instead of reading about?

For Real

Okay, seriously?

When I said 'Somebody-Joe' wasn't too bad, meaning Kristy-Joe? I just didn't have a feel for exactly how crazy she is. Thank goodness she's gone! (We're talking about Rock of Love 2, of course.) My vote now is for Ambre. Hubby says she's not the hottest one left, but she's normal, and I love that. Hopefully it 'kinda turns Bret on' as well.

Tonight, hubby is off working on a car again, so I get my other TV fix - Intervention. Yay!!

The Weekend in Review

Last weekend was one of those odd weekends where I hardly did anything, but a ton happened anyway. Whew! Back to the old grind can be somewhat relaxing, sometimes.

Friday night was my Girls' Night Out. Woo-hoo!! Thank goodness for a supportive husband :) I went and met a few girlfriends at The Bee's Knees and painted an adorable little heart-shaped picture frame that will hold Maggie's six-month picture (once I go have them taken, that is...). We were having a nice time visiting, and munching on snacks and painting, but I sort of rushed out. See, a couple of hubby's friends had come to the house and were going out for dinner at 9pm. I'm not one to miss out on a meal! Hahahaha... The four of us (and Maggie, of course) headed to Branns for steak. We had the same waitress as last time (about a month ago) and she remembered us too. I'm not sure if that's good or bad....

Saturday morning darling hubby got up to make French toast for breakfast before he headed out to the garage to work on a friend's car for the day. Unfortunately, he may have only skimmed the directions, and used the instant pudding I had in the cupboard for friendship bread instead of the cook and serve pudding called for in the recipe. We learned that this is a VERY IMPORTANT distinction. The pudding started to set-up before the toast made it to the goo and the grill. Oh well. We ended up having cereal, and I washed the cooked, instant pudding off the grill this morning. Lesson learned!

Poor hubby spent all day Saturday and Sunday working on the Jeep of Death. It still isn't done :( Unfortunately it has to be finished (and, more importantly, out of our garage) before he can fix what's wrong with his car. In the meantime, he's driving my car (except for tomorrow, when he'll beg a ride from someone else so Maggie and I can go to infant massage).

Saturday night and Sunday night, I shamefully looked forward to and watched two TV shows which probably have no intellectual or cultural worth, but I enjoyed anyway. hahaha...Saturday night I saw Miss Michigan crowned Miss America, and Sunday night was (of course!) Rock of Love 2!!

What Was I Thinking?!?

Of course Television Without Pity has excellent summaries of each episode of Rock of Love 2, which right now includes just the premiere episode. If you missed it last night, and the replay that has already been on VH1, you can read the summary here. Enjoy!

Well...

I feel like I should follow-up to a post like that with some sort of summary of the premiere, you know?
Hubby thought Jackye was going to make it til the end (even though he said he didn't particularly like her). Guess not! Hahahaha
I hate the ugly french woman (Angelique?) - EW!!! Daisy, I think her name is, also is not very pretty. They sort of remind me of each other. Sorry, girls.
Meghan totally reminds me strongly of one of the blondes from the first season, but I couldn't tell you who.
Somebody-Joe is okay, and I don't hate Ambre (the very last pick) yet either....
We'll see what's in store!

27 December 2007

Ummm...Jes?

I FINALLY got to watch the reunion show from the first season of Rock of Love (remind me again why I've been unable to get in 40 hours of work this week?). I thought Jes was kind of a bitch. But in a nice way, I suppose.

The really good news? The next season of Rock of Love premieres on January 13!! Yay!!

17 December 2007

Still...

I think it's time for addiction treatment for my husband...and the television. How can he still watch TV every night - when we usually don't understand what's going on? There are only a few things we can watch in English. MTV, CNN and some other shows where if you concentrate, you can hear the English that they're speaking over in German. Boy, is that frustrating. South Park is mildly amusing, since we've seen most of the episodes already, so you know what's happening even if you can't understand it this time. But none of this stops my darling hubby from watching TV every night...just like at home.

28 November 2007

Yay for Fist of Zen!!

So VampD, I think you missed this one...MTV has a really swell show on now. I think it's out of the UK, cuz they're speaking English, but it's dubbed in German. Fist of Zen is five 'contestants,' who are a team. They are in a library or other silent place. The amusement comes in when they need to complete painful or disgusting tasks, but without making any sound. If they succeed, they get money. If not, they get insulted by the 'Zen Master.' It's pretty amusing...

09 October 2007

Oh, Jack :(

Someone needs to tell Jack Bauer that he can't save the world if he's drunk. :(

01 October 2007

Go, Jes!!!

Oops - sorry about the spoiler right in the title, but I was just so excited!! They finally played the Rock of Love finale last night. I guessed the ending about half way through. Heather ended up much ruder than I expected though...
The only drawback is that Jes is apparently no longer single, so I'll need to pick a new girl-crush now..hmm.... Good choice, Bret!

30 September 2007

Suspense!

Only 39 minutes til the Rock of Love season finale!! I can't wait!!!
See, I'm really not all that big of a TV fan, in general. It's this, and starting in January again (I assume), Jack Bauer and I will work together to save the world in 24! (He couldn't do it without my support from my couch!)

24 September 2007

Tease!

Grr....
Those dirty dogs. I would just about SWEAR that last week (as in September 16) they said the season finale for Rock of Love was this week (meaning yesterday night). But noooo....it was a measly half hour of recaps/outtakes/whatever. So now I have a whole 'NOTHER week to wait?? If something holds it off next week, there is gonna be a serious throw down. I'm just sayin.

16 September 2007

YIPPEE!!

The bad news first? I had to run to the computer with the good news, cuz my marvelous man is still on his way back from Minnesota.
The good news? Good bye, Lacey!!!!
The sad news? Next week is the season finale of Rock of Love. I'm excited to see Jes win (fingers crossed), but bummed to lose my show after next week :(

05 September 2007

Rock of Love!!

So I got to catch this week's episode of my favorite 'reality tv' show last night....Rock of Love - where Bret Michaels is trying to find his true love among a mansion of...er...interesting (read: sometimes crazy, psychotic or otherwise scary) women. I'm pulling for Jes to win, now that my other favorite was eliminated. :( I'm waiting (with the rest of the sane world) for Lacey to get eliminated. I'll help her pack, just get rid of her!!

Hush Little Baby...

What a morning! Maggie's been a bit fussy, but I'm not really sure why. I've given her the tummy drops (in case it's gas), and she should be getting plenty of milk, since I feel full now that she did fall to sleep for more than an hour at a time...
So what's an exhausted mommy to do when she finally has a few minutes to herself? Luckily, I don't have to pack up the baby to go get groceries for tonight, since grandma (hers, not mine) is coming over tonight (when she gets here, I can go to the store BABY FREE!).
I have like an hour left before company comes - I could start working on the thank you cards I've been blowing off (I suck!), or maybe try and find an episode of Intervention (that fabulous show where they make the addicts go to drug treatment centers and I cry every time...hahaha)?
Okay, okay....I'll sit down with the thank you cards - but I AM going to have a glass of root beer.
