An Award for Me :)

I got an award (actually two awards!) from Lani. I'm going to split them up and just pass one along today, with the other to follow later in the week.

Okay...ten things no one knows about me? This is tough. I don't really keep secrets about myself.

1. I actually used to prefer sweet, sugary candy (read: Nerds or Sweettarts) to chocolate...but now I've gotten sort of hooked on Dove chocolate. Go figure.
2. One of my top-secret things that I'd love to buy for myself someday would be a blog redesign.
3. Like I said, I may not have ten secrets...
4. I accidentally laughed the other day when Maggie said, "Well, shit," right after I did. She'd gotten out of the bathtub while I'd stepped into the hall and then she ran past me.
5. I really look forward to being able to take pain killers once Maggie is done nursing. But honestly, I'm not rushing her weaning either.
6. I still, someday, would like to have something I wrote published on paper. I know it's old-school and everyone reads the internet now, which would make me a (self) published author, but I have higher standards than that...
7. I let being a 'stay at home mom' (or even when I had a home job, a work at home mom) make me feel less worthy. I'm working on that.
8. I love the smell of fresh cut grass, but I don't cut the grass at our house. I do the inside, he does the outside.
9. I still have awards I earned at previous jobs. I'm sentimental like that.
10. I have a lot of liberal social beliefs, but they're usually intended to apply to the rights of other people. I'm pretty darn traditional for myself.

Rudstrom Family Blog - They make the 'up north' that hubby's heading to look like the Caribbean! I think Alaska needs more sunshine and lemonade (for now, but certainly not in June!). Award Lovin'

I've been slacking lately! Most of my posts have felt like piles of words just spewed out at a rapid pace between other tasks. Sorry. I have been reading lots of other blogs, and I even try to comment when the mood moves me, but I've neglected to tell you about the awards they've given me. It's so good to feel the love :)

Siteseer has graced me with this Brainy Blog award. She's the one who brought me up to be so smart, so I owe it all to her (and Papa, of course). I can't remember who said it (but she probably will, which is why she got the brainy award first), but she used to love to repeat the story of someone commenting on my wit by saying it was so sharp, "She must eat tacks for breakfast." I try. :blush: Thanks for making me so 'brainy!'

It didn't take much reading to feel like I know her already. Her posts are so...intimate...like she's really baring her soul. Picture of the Day and Another Award!!

She used to be so little! This is from just over a year ago - early August, 2007. Maggie only sucked her thumb a few times, but this time we caught it in a picture :) She did end up using a pacifier for a couple months, but she set that aside herself as well.




And this week (or was it last? Sorry - I'm running behind!) I got an award from Sonja! Thank you so much!! I love Sonja's blog and her pictures of her son (especially) and everything else as she sees the world. Even better? I may get to go see her in person in the next month or so... Yippee!!
