Supercross Review
Although I never would have expected it, I think I'm now a Supercross fan. We'd never been before, but it's pretty entertaining.
Seeing Ford Field transformed into a dirt track, complete with a run up into where the stands were covered, was cool. They announced that the track was slippery for the competitors, but I don't know what would contribute to that. And as far as I can tell, it could only make it more entertaining for us, right?
The picture hubby took below warms my heart. See, Jack did not want to put on his ear plug/covers. So I didn't push it much, and figured we'd have time as the bikes started up. Unfortunately, during the national anthem there was an actual bomb noise. Jack was scared half to death. He burrowed his head into my shoulder, and wouldn't even let me take my hands off of his ears to get his ear plugs. With some help from a neighbor and hubby, we finally got the ear plugs on, but our poor little guy didn't move much for at least a half hour. I love this picture because it shows him finally relaxing a bit between snuggling my lap, and holding his big sister's hand. They are so sweet!
While hubby suspects some of the semi-final races were rigged because local guys and underdogs came in high enough to move to the next races, I just think it was more fun to watch the 17-year-old, and the guy from right near us, in Holly, Michigan. Having never seen the supercross races before, it gave me someone to cheer for, you know?

Project Life: Capture the Moment
Welcome to my newest hobby - Project Life! It's like scrapbooking, but simpler, and faster :) Just what I needed to document some of what goes on in my family's life.
Here's my intro page:
And here's my spread for week one:
That's all I've got to share so far. Week two is laid out, but I still need to trim the pictures to fit in the pockets, and do a little bit of journaling - that's all it takes!
Check back next month and I'll put up some more.
In the meantime, check out the spreads and ideas at these great blogs:

Monster Truck Jam recap - January 11
I think Maggie's face says it all! And she's wearing her new GraveDigger hat too ;) Everyone loved the Monster Jam on January 11.
Jack was exhausted, and ended up sleeping through part of the show. I figure if you can sleep through the noise of Monster Jam, you really need a nap. Silly boy.
A big group went this year, with hubby and our two kids, as well as a couple of his friends with their kids or friend's kids.
The show was exciting as always, and we're excited to check them out again when they're in town in early spring. Save the date - March 1, 2014 back at Ford Field in Detroit! Yay!!

Happy Second Birthday, Jack!
Oh, my boy. You are certainly two.
When you're happy, the whole world can't help but smile with you. When you're not happy, though..look out!
The full happy squeal lasts just a minute, then you usually look pretty content or contemplative about the world around you. I call you my grumpy old man much of the time, but I know you're keeping that smile on the inside.
Every time you climb up on me when you're supposed to be going to sleep, and I find it's just so you can give me another kiss, you melt my heart a little more.
I can't wait to hear everything you have to say, but at the same time I don't want to rush you growing up. Because you are my baby. Our family is complete.
It's hard to talk about you without mentioning your sister, since she was everything I knew about babies and toddlers until you came along. You made my previous knowledge frequently useless, but that's okay. It's an adventure I love to learn about you. And I'm pretty sure you don't mind having your sister mentioned in your birthday post, as she is definitely your favorite.
That overpowering joy that you just can't hold back? I get to see it every day when your sister walks off her school bus. You run to her, giggling and screaming her name, until you hug each other and we begin the walk home. It would only take five minutes by myself, but you have so much exploring to do every day that it takes much, much longer. But I hate to rush you when you're enjoying yourself so much.
Thank you, Jack, for choosing us as your family. I hope we always love each other as much as we do now, or even more.

Wordless Wednesday (Yeah, Like I'm EVER 'wordless')
Jack and I went to meet Daddy for lunch today. We went to a nice little place that Google talk-to-text calls 'Si Que Digs.'

A Day Out with Thomas (mostly in pictures..)
Last Sunday, I took the kids to Day Out with Thomas at Huckleberry Railroad. We'd never been there at all, so it was all new. Maggie doesn't remember, but we actually did see Thomas when she was Jack's age one Mothers' Day weekend at Greenfield Village. But of course that wouldn't have excited her like it did Jack. :)

(Somewhat) Wordless Wednesday
I know a lot of you already saw this on Facebook, but it cracked me up enough to post again :)
After I finished uploading the picture to Facebook, I looked over and all of the golf tees in the little game on the table were stuck in the grilled cheese sandwich! I had to go back and look at the picture again to see if I just hadn't noticed while I was capturing his smiling face.
We had a fun mommy/Jack lunch at Cracker Barrel while Maggie was at baton camp for the day.

Hoppy Easter!
Only one week to go! We hit the mall today to have our pictures done with the bunny in charge ;) I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we never had a melt-down picture with Jack and a giant character. That's usually around 18 months, right? He'll be older than two by Christmas ;)
