I Have a Good Listener

Maggie knew I needed a break. She's been sleeping since I got out of the shower - two and a half hours ago!
I'm at 17.5 hours of work so far this week, but there are now changes coming to my main project (so we've been told to stop working), and we're out of work on my secondary project. So I'm off to work on some laundry.

We (and by 'we' I mean Maggie) got MAJOR poopies on the swing the other day. But her diaper wasn't full. She may have a gift - she shat straight UP her back. Yeah, thanks, kid. Hopefully it washed up okay. We'll see.

I think I got even with her this morning though. Just kidding, we're not keeping score, but I did really tee her off. She has a really cute one piece outfit that has long sleeves and long pants, and snaps all the way up her left side. This little tidbit of information is very important. This morning, I tried to snap it up the RIGHT side, which meant the top was on straight, but the bottom was backwards. It fit very tightly that way and she wasn't happy.
Sorry, baby, I'm new at this.

Whew

Well, I was trying to work 40 hours last week (my work week runs from Saturday til the following Friday). Yes, even during the holiday week. I failed, pretty miserably. I emailed my boss on Wednesday that I would only be doing 30, sorry. Last night when I finally clocked out, the time clock showed I'd only hit 29.75. Darn.

Don't get me wrong - I'm VERY grateful to be able to stay home with my baby, but working 30 hours a week, taking care of the house, and still being constantly available for all her cuteness is challenging. Very challenging.

Only THREE more wake-ups!!

It's getting close now.

We're currently operating without a swing (which has been without batteries for a week anyway) and a changing table (so I'm using the coffee table, since I don't drink coffee anyway..hahaha). They're both boxed up in the corner of the room, ready to ship home. Tonight the man has to go through his clothes and decide exactly what he's wearing til we get home, so I can stop doing laundry.

I didn't work over the weekend, and I really should have. So today, I got up when the man went to work, and I'm already working. Well, in between wearing out the carpet walking up and down the hall to check on the baby, who is sleeping in our bed surrounded by pillows and blankets. The (possibly unrealistic) goal is to do seven hours today and seven hours tomorrow, then a lazy six hours on Wednesday. I'm supposed to finish between 25 - 30 hours this week, so that would leave me Thursday afternoon (IN THE USA) and Friday to do 5 - 10 hours. We'll see.

Guess what I have that you (probably) don't??? REINDEER TOILET PAPER!!! When we went to the market on Saturday, we were trying to just get those last couple of things we need to keep us alive and somewhat comfortable in the apartment through Wednesday. We were looking for the cheapest toilet paper possible, but then this awesome stuff caught my eye. It has brown reindeer, along with 'Happy New Year,' and 'Merry Christmas,' - that's right - IN ENGLISH - printed on it. Although the German toilet still stinks, the reindeer give me a bit of a smile while I suffer.

Lucky

As I filled out a birthday card for someone and wrote, "Go out and live your dreams," I realized something I've been forgetting lately. This is my dream. I live my dream by working from home and raising my daughter. I tell people I wouldn't have it any other way, but in truth I'm very lucky to have this opportunity. A lot of people can't choose to take a considerable pay cut to work at home, and still count on ends meeting. I'm very thankful that my husband supports me in this.
So from now on, maybe I should just write, "Go live your dreams," because not everyone has to go out to watch their dreams come true.

Time Management

I keep wondering what I'll do when Maggie doesn't sleep most of the time. I'm actually not sure if I'll get more or less done. See, I don't get a lot done now, because I spend a lot of time making myself available to her, which usually means planted in the living room next to her (with me facing the tv, and her facing away from the tv). Last week I got sucked into 'How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days.' Very funny movie. My excuse? After the little rat dog, Krull, peed on the pool table at the guy's office because of the green felt, I knew he was going to pee again on the guy's poker tables at home because it was more green felt. Hehehehehehehe.... Am I turning into an adolescent boy? That dog going wee-wee was cracking me up. Did she train him to do that?

Stressed!

Okay. Stressed is just desserts backwards, right?

It takes me an hour to pump four ounces. Sometimes I still can't get it. I just spent 45 minutes and have just less than two ounces, and haven't gotten anything in the last ten minutes, so I'm taking a break. I NEED to have bottles pumped for someone else to watch her while I train from my job. Today's pumping efforts are so I can go to a friend's candle party. Grr...!!!

I still need to line up daycare for when I train for my job. Ideally, I'd like people to come here. Secondly, I'd like them all to be clones of me, cuz I'm not ready to leave her with ANYONE else! So far I have her daddy working from home one day, and my brother coming over one day, and one of my best friends who is very good with babies coming another day. That leave four more six-hour days to cover. Grrr...!!!

How in hell does one pack for TWO MONTHS away from home with a baby? Seriously. I'm clueless here. I think we'll be most limited by the actual luggage we own. Is hubby going to set up to ship things? He's gone a week before we go, so I'm PETRIFIED that it won't be done when he leaves, so I'll be home alone with the baby (except that's the week I need to go in to the office and train for the new job), and need to pack stuff for both of us and get the house ready to be vacant for two months, and set up the stuff for my parents to pick up along with the cat a couple days after we leave. Grrr.....!!!!
