A Couple Pictures from Tonight

Not that it was an exciting night or anything - just Maggie and I hanging out at home. Unfortunately, I've figured out that my old camera is probably in desperate need of some sort of tune-up or something, since everything I take is blurry. Sorry. :)

Oh yeah, and most of them are kind of dark too. Here's Maggie and I sitting in the hallway. She backed that thing up and plopped down on my lap. I love when she does that. It's probably good that my face is dark and blurry in this picture. Just sayin...

After some rearranging, Maggie's old bumbo chair has come back into circulation. She climbs right in it, sits for a few minutes, then climbs back out. She is wearing a diaper in this picture, but that's all. We'd just finished her bath so she'll be fresh for our road trip tomorrow.

Only three more wake ups til we see daddy again!!

Some More Pool Fun shots

Maggie and I did spend some time in the water at the pool last Saturday, but she was really happiest walking around with the beach ball. Even when we were in the water, she was just watching the big kids toss the beach ball around. Once they were done with it, I got it for Maggie, and she never set it down again (which made taking her swimsuit off and giving her a shower a little complicated ;) ).

Sometimes she'd squat to rest from the constant walking around the pool, but she still wouldn't set down the ball...

For Hubby

Here's Maggie and I in the pool at the campground on Saturday. You can sort of see the boo-boo on her nose - first blood at 13 months :( It's already healing pretty well. We've kept it slathered with Neosporin, and that seems to be doing the trick. Honestly, I didn't think it was too bad of a picture of me either, so there ya go. I know I've dropped off from the mommy and me pictures, but here's one from Mimi :)

Some Pictures from the Weekend

Sorry I sort of disappeared there. I think I'd mentioned in a few posts back that I was really excited to get my work done and go visit my parents at the campground where they were staying. I was able to accomplish my goal almost according to my schedule. I busted my butt to get my work done by Wednesday afternoon, and we were with my parents by 8pm on Wednesday night :)

Here Maggie is chilling in her stroller down by the river. Her adorable lil crocs are from Mimi. She spent most of this walk chewing on them, but this was while she was still just enjoying our company.

Maggie also loved the fact that so many dogs go camping. Here she is with one of her new friends. Anyone who knows sign language will be very amused by Maggie's new communications. Her sign for dog (which should be more like snapping her fingers, as you might picture someone calling a dog) looks just like the sign for milk (picture someone milking a cow). And everything that's not human is a dog in Maggie's world. She makes her sign for dog when she hears a dog barking, or sees a dog, or sees a cat, or sees a duck, or sees a large bug. They're all dogs to her :)

Picture of the Day

This was taken at one of the aquariums at Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, Bahamas. The funny thing about it? It was taken in May of 2004. I just found it because I got out my old camera to use for a spell while hubby takes his to Germany. In making sure I could get pictures off the camera, I found this beauty. Hahahaha... Also several pictures of people I don't even remember the names of anymore. It looks like we were having fun, though!

Picture of the Day - Maggie at Put-In-Bay

Today we went boating out to Put-In-Bay. Hubby insists that Lake St. Clair is usually smoother than Lake Erie, but for the second time in a row, my ride on Lake Erie was smooth as silk. Yay!! (I don't especially like a bumpy ride...)
This picture is of Maggie looking rather bored with having her picture taken at DeRivera park while her daddy paid the harbor master for our dock for the afternoon. She just looked so...tolerant of me ;)

Picture of the Day and Another Award!!

She used to be so little! This is from just over a year ago - early August, 2007. Maggie only sucked her thumb a few times, but this time we caught it in a picture :) She did end up using a pacifier for a couple months, but she set that aside herself as well.

And this week (or was it last? Sorry - I'm running behind!) I got an award from Sonja! Thank you so much!! I love Sonja's blog and her pictures of her son (especially) and everything else as she sees the world. Even better? I may get to go see her in person in the next month or so... Yippee!!

Picture of the Day

Here's a good one of Miss Maggie driving her second cousin's motorized lil four wheeler. Daddy really wanted her to give it the juice, but she didn't really get the hang of it. She would use both hands to try and push the button to make it go, which meant her weight leaned on the handlebars on one side. She was getting a little better at a circle to the right than anything else. ;)

Picture of the Day - the Countdown!!

Less than a week!! These are some of my mom's favorite pictures of her and my dad with baby Maggie. The Maggie they'll see next week has gotten so much bigger!
Have you seen my parent's blog? Check it out here. They're on their way back from Alaska. They've been gone since late May, and Maggie and I are headed to meet them in northern Michigan (well, more northern than we are!) once I'm done with work next week. I can't wait!!

Picture of the Day

Yet another of our JC Penney pictures. I love the ones like this with one picture sort of faded in the background, but they are way too pricey for our budget, especially when we've gotten professional pictures every three months for the first year. Now we're taking a whopping six months til we do it again at the holidays.

Picture of the Day - As Promised :)

So the picture is a couple months old, but this is what we had in mind for our darling daughter on Friday night. Sleep. Just like Sonja, we went to the drive-in last weekend. We saw Pineapple Express and Step Brothers on the very big screen. We figured since Maggie usually sleeps so well in her car seat, this would be the perfect way for us to sort of 'sneak in' a night out without having to leave her. Yeah. About that. She stayed awake for almost all of the first movie. Right around 11 o'clock she finally dozed, but still woke up for part of the second movie. Crazy kid! To her credit (and our relief!) she didn't fuss at all when she woke up. She just wanted to watch the movie. She's definitely her daddy's girl.

Picture of the Day - Go Tigers!

One of the outfits Maggie got for her birthday from her Aunt Alicia is this adorable Tigers dress with the matching ball cap. As luck would have it, one of hubby's co-workers knows Curtis Granderson and had the hat autographed. The bill now reads, "Best Wishes Maggie," with Granderson's signature.

Thanks, Curtis Granderson, and Go, Tigers!!

Picture of the Day - My Cat

See, I can tell it's a cat just by looking, because there's a label on her forehead :) Her name is Audrey. Yeah, this was taken on a day I was having a little too much fun with my new label maker! Unfortunately, the very cranky looking cat in this picture will probably be much crankier come Monday. She's going to the vet and the groomer. Her fur is no longer as soft as it looks, as there are huge mats on her back by her tail. And a huge collection of dingleberries under her tail. Ew. After Monday, she'll be a new cat, but I don't think she'll be too happy about it at first.
Sorry, Audrey.

Picture of the Day

Another one from our 'one year' photo shoot last Friday :) I was laughing with my cousin the other day that none of our 'one year' (or the 'three month' or the 'six month'...or..you get the picture) were on time. My big excuse it that it's because her birthday is near the end of the month. From the 23rd (her birthday), once I'm running a week late it's the next month. So I had to write on the back of what I think of as her one year pictures, "August 2008." Because although she turned one in July, I didn't quite get on the ball til the first week of August. Oh well. :)

Picture of the Day

Hubby and I had a crazy plan. We didn't want a big wedding, so we headed to the courthouse on our way to drive to Florida and leave on a cruise. On the way out of town, we mailed wedding announcements that we'd made with some pictures taken by a friend who was an amateur photographer, and put together on snapfish or shutterfly or whatever.
This wasn't the picture we ended up using, but another taken the same snowy day in January, 2006 at my parents' house.

Picture of the Day

Babies, babies everywhere....
My parents are on the 'return' end of their RVing to Alaska and back trip (check out some of their fabulous pictures at Where the Road Takes Us. When my mom called today she asked about one of my cousins who we thought was expecting her baby any day. When I looked into it a bit I found that she's actually only about 28 weeks along with her little boy. But it got me to thinking about how many women I know who are currently expecting little bundles of joy.
1. Another of my cousins (well, his wife Tami) is due in August (I want to say they're having a boy?)
2. The cousin in question (okay, again my cousin's wife Melissa) is due in 12 weeks with a boy (so I think that would be November?)
3. A cousin on the other side of the family is expecting twins (one of each) in October.
4. Friends are expecting twins in the fall as well (I can't remember offhand if they know the genders?)
5. Another online mommy I know is expecting next spring (but I don't think she's 'announced' it yet, so no linky love for now :) ).
6. My brother and SIL are expecting at the end of March. They don't plan to find out the gender til delivery.

And the picture of the day is for my SIL to see part of the gift we got for #3. She was out of town for the baby shower, so while I told her what I'd picked up, I've been saving this picture to show her and keep forgetting! Here are the onesies I told you about, S!

Picture of the Day

So I'm thinking I'm going to have to switch my titles up a bit, or every day will start to look the same ;)
Today I'm posting another picture from a few weeks ago. As I went back and reviewed some of my posts from the last month, I realized I hadn't put up any of Maggie in her birthday dress. We put her back in her birthday dress again the other day to have her one year pictures taken. I should have had her wear her gold chain and angel pendant (that has her name and birth date engraved on the back), but it didn't occur to me til after after fact. Oh well.

I also read someone's general advice today that said only to post a picture every three posts or so. What do you think? Is my page loading too slow for you, or are the pictures not a problem? (I already know your answer, Mom ;) ).

And what to do about the title thing? Any advice? Huh.

Picture of the Day

I have a new hobby. I LOVE clipping coupons. It's therapeutic. Last week I got Sunday's paper, and it took me til this morning to get all of the coupons clipped. And I do mean all. I have coupons for hair color (although without help I usually go to the salon to have it colored when I feel like it), microwave popcorn (which hubby doesn't want in the house because of the trans fat), adult 'undergarments' (read: diapers), Pampers (okay, this one I will use), condoms (which we've NEVER used) - you name it, I clipped a coupon for it.
And I felt better and more at peace with every snip. Go figure.

Picture of the Day

So with the scarcity of my posting lately, I'm going to totally steal an idea from C.O. and AnnMarie and do a Picture of the Day. I don't see it going forever, but I'm going to start. It may last a week, or a month, or whatever, but I'm making a goal to carry the camera if we do..well, anything, and if we don't? Share a picture I have that was taken previously. Wish me luck!

Here's Maggie and I heading out for the Sunsation Owners' Rally a couple weekends ago. She actually wasn't the youngest one there, as some other boat owners had their ten week old along for the ride :)
