28 October 2013

Motivated Monday!

Yeah. I just totally made that up. I have a lot of stuff that's been stewing in my think tank that needs some action. Here's some of the things I will make progress on in the next week or so.

  • Send out gift cards to my team members who were active by October 15.
  • Send out a surprise gift to another team member ;)
  • Choose a winning team member from those who listed their bookings on our Facebook page for October.
  • Plan grocery shopping/menus starting November 1 (yes, that's this week!).
  • Scan/send water bill to tenants.
  • Pick up mail at the post office.
  • Start sending invites for '12 Days of Christmas' shows with Dove. Essentially, it's hosts choosing to do a catalog party in December, for which they'll get extra prizes (in addition to their regular host benefits). Want in? Anyone in the 48 contiguous states can do it - let me know :)
  • Find invites and work on list for my annual ornament exchange.
  • Finish planning my LEGO duplo House Party for November 16.
  • Keep working on my office (straightening and organizing).
  • Start a list of future blog posts for my new blog (details to follow ;) ).
  • Continually follow-up with all of my November and December chocolate hosts.
  • LAST swimming class tonight!

16 September 2012

To-Do List: Week of September 17 - 21, 2012

Ugh. My brain is going in 75 thousand directions at once. Maybe if I write down this randomness of stuff to do, places to be and other crazy commitments it'll help keep it somewhat straight for me to pull it all off :)
  • LLL Meeting
  • Lunch with Nancy (yay!)
  • Curriculum night
  • Jack's well-baby doctor visit
  • Schedule Maggie's doctor check-up
  • Lisa's Jewel Kade party (yay!)
  • Follow-up with next weekend's hostesses
  • Bake for next weekend's parties
  • Pick up my prescription refill
  • Follow-up again with my last three leads (tomorrow!)
  • Close last weekend's party (Wednesday/Thursday)
  • Help Maggie practice her parade routine
  • Meal plan for the week
  • Pack for next weekend's shows
And hopefully fit in sleeping and eating! I probably should have gotten my 'real' calendar out before trying to compile this list, but it's done enough for now.

22 April 2012

To-Do! Week of April 23 - 29, 2012

I apologize in advance; this will be pretty random, but it's just mostly stuff I want to get done before my awesome trip at the beginning of May!
  1. Schedule pedicure for April 30 or May 1
  2. Start tanning for base!!
  3. Try on summer clothes from two years ago (ya know, before I was pregnant last summer!) to see what fits and what I need to get.
  4. Go shopping based on #3.
  5. Get my silly eyebrows shaped again (probably April 30 or May 1)
  6. Go to Painting with a Twist on April 26!
  7. Do the local library fundraiser (as a Dove Chocolate chocolatier on April 27.
  8. Do Jessica's chocolate party on April 29.
  9. Prepare to submit last Friday's fundraiser, any orders from the library, and Jessica's party by April 30.
  10. Update personal newsletter 'blurb' before April 30.
  11. Work test-scoring job three hours per night most nights (sorry, I'm not looking up to see what I actually committed to right now...)
  12. Register for Dove Chocolate Discoveries' National Conference by April 30 (to take advantage of early bird discount!)

Final Countdown

Maggie and I had such a fun time at her cousin's birthday party today. I love hanging out with my family and seeing the girls have such a good time together.

But enjoying their party so much has really elevated my awareness of how much I need to do before Maggie's birthday party and our open house next weekend. And unfortunately hubby doesn't have any availability to help out with this stuff this week, so it's all on me. A lot of it I know I'm not physically capable of, so I'm having to sort the list down to a real 'need' basis and still get some help.

Any suggestions for how to get some of this off of my list most efficiently?

  • Powerwash deck
  • Powerwash play structure
  • Replace rope parts on play structure
  • Put roof on play structure (not going to happen, but a girl can dream, right?)
  • Install pony tire swing on extension (not yet installed) to play structure
  • Remove molly from family room wall, re-spackle and paint, then put up the decorations I actually want there
  • Unpack last few stray boxes
  • Go get new bed Maggie wants for her birthday (it's about an hour away...)
  • Arrange for neighbor to cut lawn, and additionally to weed-whack under play structure
  • Figure out where to stash broken adirondack chairs that should go to the dump, but really won't make it there in my car before next weekend
  • Weed landscaping near house
  • Arrange to have a cake picked up by someone on their way to our house on Saturday (I'm thinking a Costco cake would be good, but I don't have a membership)
  • Get pinata fillings
  • Friday: Go shopping for food to grill at party on Saturday
Oh, yeah, and Tuesday is already booked pretty solid. And I have chocolate tasting parties on Thursday and Friday night.

I thought last week was my tough week for the summer, but I'm tired just reading everything I want to do this week!

05 May 2011

To-Do List for May 5, 2011

  • Bathe Maggie
  • Eat artichoke from fridge :)
  • Finish laundry in progress (fold from dryer, then dry and fold from washer...)
  • Pack up Maggie's bathroom
  • Put clothes on hangers in trunk
  • Pack up majority of non-refrigerated food
  • Shower myself (including dry hair and make-up)
  • Pack blow dryer (for hubby to use on floors in new house)
  • Eat lunch and feed Maggie
  • Drive to new house and unpack car
  • Dinner with friends :)
This is one of those really odd cases where the plan sounds better in writing than it did in my head!

Plans for the Week

The weekend was great! Maggie especially enjoyed getting on stage - repeatedly - with the Fairy Queen at our fairy tea on Saturday :) But now it's back to the grind...

  • Monday AM - Dentist appointment for me. If Maggie does well watching, we'll schedule cleanings for both of us ASAP.
  • Tuesday - Find a Carter's store as close as possible. When we were at a mall (about an hour away) a couple weeks ago, we got most of a discount card filled up...by spending $20 on Tuesday, I'll have another $10 FREE. What a great way to get a jump on summer clothes for Maggie.
  • Wednesday - Still need to call a friend, but hopefully meeting up downtown for lunch.
  • Thursday - Since we've missed gymnastics the last few weeks, I'd really love to give Maggie a chance to run around at open gym, which is held several times on Thursdays.
  • Friday - Welcome to April! Doctor's appointment and start packing/gearing up for chocolate parties on Saturday and Sunday.

02 June 2010

To-Do List for June 3, 2010

Well! Tomorrow night (it will all be over with in less than 24 hours) I'm having what will hopefully be a large open house for my chocolate business! I've found there are a lot of people who have never seen anything from the company, or have been hostesses in the past but haven't seen anything lately, and want to see it without first committing to their own party. So I invited them all over. More than 100 people. I'm actually optimistically expecting around 10% - like ten people - but they're from different groups, so it's a great evening of opportunity! With plenty of prep work still to go....
  • Decide exactly which recipes I'll be serving
  • Go grocery shopping for ingredients
  • Go shopping for mini-serving plastic glasses
  • Prepare hostess packets for everyone who will want to book their own tasting
  • Clean the bathroom :)
  • Dust and vacuum living areas (living room, dining area, kitchen and hallway)
  • Shower & put on makeup (hey, it's a party, right?)
  • Put out 'open date card' so everyone knows what dates I'm available to schedule their tasting
  • Prepare recipes for serving
  • Put out catalogs and order forms
  • Decide on raffle system (how many tickets for what activity - attending, bringing guests, ordering, booking, looking at the chocolatier opportunity) and prizes!
  • Call 'maybe' booking people before open house to see if they want dates before they're gone
  • Participate in conference call/training at noon (I'm so afraid I'm going to forget this one!)
Why am I afraid this list is only going to grow??

17 March 2010

To-Do List (the rest of whatever week this is...)

Didn't I tell you I'm already too busy this week? I'm forgetting things left and right. Besides being busy, I'm stressed out and can't accomplish a lot of the things I'd like to until after my cardiology appointment on Friday (when they'll HOPEFULLY schedule my heart procedure). For the rest of this week, though.. I need to:
  • Mail thank-you card to last weekend's chocolate party hostess
  • Make thank-you postcards for last weekend's chocolate party guests who I have addresses for (which really isn't very many - most of them just gave me their name and cash...)
  • Mail extra invite postcards to next weekend's chocolate party hostess
  • Apply best wrinkle cream frequently. Maggie climbed up on my lap yesterday to see the dry, flaky skin under my eyes when I wasn't wearing makeup and said, "Mommy has a boo-boo." Thanks, kid.
  • Prepare chocolate show folders for this Saturday's chocolate party.
  • Pack samples and cash-n-carry chocolate items for jewelry party I'm going to Friday, where I was invited to set up a small chocolate display.
  • Call MIL and confirm that she's coming over to go to swim class with Maggie.
I think that hits all the high points....

13 December 2008

Whoops! To-do, Sunday, December 14, 2008

Yup. A whole to-do list for just tomorrow. Guess I should have figured out some sort of focus for the whole weekend a little earlier. Too late now!

  • Bake ten dozen cookies. Yeah, go me.
  • Go to Hallmark and get address book change stickers (the ones that cover up the address you already wrote when you found out that like half the people you know have moved?)
  • Go to Party City and look for needed paper products (that's all I can say about that....)
  • Oh, before the first thing? Decide what kind of cookies to make, and go get ingredients. Hahahaha....
  • Look for gift swap gift also taking place at cookie exchange Monday evening.
  • Try to get in at least four hours of work. Ugh.
  • Get unused holiday decorations back to the basement. Give up the hope that they'll all miraculously go up. I'm in a good holiday spirit, darnitall. Apparently we don't need ALL of those decorations ;)

30 November 2008

To-Do List, Week of Monday, December 1, 2008

December already? Holy cow! Hubby's car is officially fixed, and he'll be using it to get around starting tomorrow. That means my social calendar went ahead and jumped out of control in a hurry! This week's engagements and other stuff that has to get done before I can go out and have fun...

  1. Clean office.
  2. Organize for cropping.
  3. Divide and deliver Nancy's chocolate show stuff.
  4. Call garden club lady to come get styrofoam coolers.
  5. Find and purchase bike helmet for Maggie for this weekend.

Baby steps...tomorrow's goals:

3) Return some bottles/cans
4) Work at least 5.25 hours (which will mean ten done this weekend, 20 to go..)
5) Finish folding/putting away the baby laundry in the dryer

Oops! Not off to a brilliant start...those are today's goals since it's already well after midnight.

01 September 2008

1. Visit Sonja and Jake!!
2. Visit Grandma (along with my cousin and her daughter, or all three of her kids).
3. Book FOUR Chocolate Tastings for September.
4. Reorganize my office for my chocolate stuff.
5. Bag up the cans/bottles in the garage and return them, and make the ugly box that collects too many of them go away forever.
6. Kill the bees making the nest under the awning of the shed.
7. Make a really cool dessert to take to my SIL for dinner on Saturday.
8. Work 30 hours each week.
9. Go to StrollerStrides twice a week.

14. Pack up the baby stuff we don't need anymore.
15. Reinforce the shelves in the kitchen.

That's all I'm coming up with right now...
Hopefully getting it all down in black and white will stop it from spinning around in my head and distracting me.

19 August 2008

My To-Do List - Week of Wednesday, August 20

  • Get drinks and dippings for chocolate tasting party on Thursday.
  • Get birthday present for two-year-old girl (any suggestions? around $30, I'm thinking...)
  • Go to StrollerStrides Friday morning.
  • Go to two-year-olds birthday party on Friday.

28 May 2008

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

Boy, starting this week a day late has really thrown me off! Hopefully a list will help me keep track of what should be getting done this week.

1. Put out boxes for organic fruit delivery company to pick up when they make their delivery. I just barely got this one done. I was off a day in my head, so I was thinking they'd come tomorrow, Wednesday, until I was in the shower and realized TODAY is Wednesday. Luckily they hadn't been here by the time I got ready and put the boxes out...

2. Work 30 hours. Yes, again.

3. Swim class on Tuesday and Thursday. Just one more week after this one...

4. Call for quotes on our new patio to replace our deck. I'm hoping I can make a call and get a visit and quote from a few companies, and not have them start stalking me like I wanted to buy cheap life insurance or something...we'll see.

5. Work on clearing off my craft counter so I can someday play with my new toy (Cricut cutter, of course...). This will be on my lists until it's done!
