So I was hanging out over on MySpace for a bit and it got me to thinking. One of my...well, probably just an acquaintance at this point...but possibly a friend. Anyway, off track already.
Have you ever known someone who didn't stay in your life, but changed it drastically in the little time you were close with them?
When I thought about it, it probably wasn't the friend as much as the situation. Going several states away to hang out with her was somewhat of a dare to myself. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, so I did, by my own force.
I got on an airplane by myself and flew to see someone I knew primarily in virtual reality. It was a great weekend, and got me dating again too (boy, is that a whole nother story!).
Overall, she and the other people in her life, changed the path of my life forever. In a very good way.
I'd tell her thanks, but we've gotten more distant over time, and it would be awkward now, although nothing was awkward that weekend.

Told you it was a long, slow day at work! LOL

You Should Be a Romance Novelist

You see the world as it should be, and this goes double for all matters of the heart.
You can find the romance in any situation, and you would make a talented romance story writer...
And while you may be a traditional romantic, you're just as likely to be drawn to quirky or dark love stories.
As long as it deals with infatuation, heartbreak, and soulmates - you could write it.
Just cuz Kate said so, here's 3 cool events, 2 births, one death and one holiday from my birthday (June 13) per Wikipedia.

HOLIDAY:

Hey! We made it to another weekend! Well, kindy...I'm actually at work today (but I did have Wednesday off!).
The girl who usually works Saturdays warned me that they're slow...no kidding! I've seen two clients today, and already finished the last of the work I didn't get to yesterday. Oh well. I brought a yummy leftover taco salad for lunch, so I'm chill ;)
Tonight I'm driving (ugh) to meet my husband (I love saying that!!) at a bonfire with some friends of ours. He's meeting me there, since he's working on the boat again today. *fingers crossed for a successful water trial*
So what are your big Saturday plans?

19 April 2006

Hi!
Sorry for the re-post, but I'm almost a quarter of the way to my goal, and I seem to have hit a plateau...If you can help I'd really appreciate it! If you know someone else who may help, please feel free to pass this along :)

I will be walking in Livingston County's Relay for Life to raise money for the American Cancer Society in May. My personal goal is to raise $1000 so I am asking everyone I know to donate $10, $20, $50 or whatever you can. Every little bit helps. Money raised goes for research, educational programs, advocacy and patient services.

I will be walking to honor my friend Sue, who passed away in August, 2005 at the age of 36 of breast cancer.

I would like to reach my $1000 goal by May 1st. If you can donate using your debit or credit card, please visit my donation page here. There is no finish line until we find a cure! Relay is about being a community that takes up the fight.

Thank you in advance for your support! If you have any questions, or would like to be a part of this exciting event, please leave me a comment :).

Thank you!
A day off!! Woo-hoo!! 'Course, I have to work on Saturday, but let's go one day at a time, shall we?
Today I plan to clean both bathrooms, dust and vacuum. (I probably spelled that wrong, but you get the idea.) This doesn't start til after a couple preliminaries. Shortly, I'll start getting out the sammich stuff to make lunch for my favorite husband. After he leaves, I may take one of our gift cards to Target to get one of those wall-mounted thingies to hold the mops and brooms. Right now, they fall on your head as you go up or down the stairs to the basement. Not much fun.
My reward? Once I get through 'cleaning both bathrooms' on my list, I'm going to make some of my very favorite-ist cocoa fudge. YUM!!!

Gah. I'm feeling really, really crappy. Not sick (luckily), just PMSy and depressed-y. And it shouldn't be my time for PMS. Ugh. I feel like everything I do is wrong; I'm unappreciated and friendless. And the little sane part of my brain tries to say I can't be that bad, and my man will be mad if he finds out what the rest of my brain is telling me, but I don't know what to do.
Does this ever go away permanently?

You Are From Mercury

You are talkative, clever, and knowledgeable - and it shows.
You probably never leave home without your cell phone!
You're witty, expressive, and aware of everything going on around you.
You love learning, playing, and taking in all of what life has to offer.
Be careful not to talk your friends' ears off, and temper your need to know everything.

Ugh! Why can't I make up my mind?? All week long, but husband was planning to go out with his brother tonight, but then yesterday his brother never called him back, so we were thinking everything was off. So today he got up and went with my brother to work on cars and stuff. As he left he said have dinner ready when he got home.
I spent a nice day by myself: cleaned up my office some, painted my toenails, started some meatballs in the crock pot. I was looking forward to us having a nice evening together since he hadn't called. I even skipped going to the library since I had plenty of plans for the rest of the weekend.
He walks in at 5 (the same time the library closes) and says his brother called a couple hours ago so he has to head out right away. So he ate a few meatballs and left. And I'm stuck home alone with no money, no books to read, and already having done household chores all da, certainly not in the mood to keep doing that.
I was originally looking forward to the day and evening alone, but now I'm just teed off that I couldn't be kept in the loop and know what changes as it does, instead of hours later when it's too late to adjust any of my plans. Ugh!

Luminaria will be lit to honor cancer survivors and to remember those who have lost their battle with cancer. If you would like to purchase one in honor or in memory of a loved one, they may be purchased for a $10 or greater donation. Please let me know if your donation is going for a luminaria.

So much for a better post to follow - sorry about that!

Yesterday was not such a fun day at our house. We took our Home Depot gift cards and went shopping - sounds like a good start, right? We got an exhaust fan for our Master Bath, a programmable thermostat and a jack thingy that goes in the basement to help level the living room floor. And we (by we, I mean my husband) decided to attack the projects in that order. The first project has yet to reach completion.

The fan is currently in the ceiling, but it can't be turned on yet due to electrical fucked-up-ed-ness in the walls. A large portion of the day was spent in the attic splicing random wires to try and make the connections we needed. Unfortunately, the wires we need don't seem to reach the attic - they must be just in the walls :(

At worst, for a while we had a switch in the bathroom that operated the light, and a switch in the bathroom that operated the lights and the computer in the spare bedroom next door. Oops!!

Now we're back to just one switch for the light. I wish I had enough money that I could pay someone to take care of it and not stress out my man anymore!!
