In a Holidaze - Book Review

In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren
Publication date: October 6, 2020
Pages: 334 pages
Genre: Romance, Contemporary, Holiday
Rating: 4/5 stars ☆☆☆☆
Strengths: Fun, quirky characters, interesting story, great 'six-months later'
Weaknesses: Not too deep, but not supposed to be.

I've finally read my first Christina Lauren book, and it was everything all of their fans have promised. I loved it!

On the way to the airport with her family after a traditional holiday with family friends, Mae is worried that she's made a horrible drunken choice that will change all of their relationships for the worse. But as they get closer to the airport, she suddenly sees the grill of a large truck and knows she's in a serious car accident. Then she wakes up on the airplane...at the beginning of their trip. What?? Why is she being sent back? Will she ever get to truly move forward?

Mae delicately tries to fix the things that could have been perceived as going 'wrong' with the vacation, hoping to get her life back on track and not be stuck in an endless time loop. Not having any time travel experience, or even knowing anyone she knows of who has, she's not sure what is supposed to be done stay in the current time with her loved ones and not keep having freak accidents that send her back. Is it worth even trying, or will everyone forget today again when she does it all over each time?

This was a super fun book and I didn't want to set it down. While I didn't get this one from the library til mid-January, reading about the holiday setting after the holidays was just fine. I'd give this one 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it to those who enjoy fun romances.

I absolutely love Christina Lauren. I enjoyed Holidaze very much as a holiday book, but to be honest...it wasn't my favorite of theirs. Half Night Stand, Roomates, Josh & Hazel, Unhoneymooners...those are my top CL picks! I got an ARC of their new book The Soulmate Equation and I absolutely LOVED it. Definitely check out more if you enjoyed this one!
