New Hair Secret

Anyone who knows me can vouch for the fact that I'm not much of a girly girl. I do like a bit of sparkle, and seeing the joy on my daughter's face keeps me from saying that glitter is the herpes of crafting, but I'm still not all into cosmetics and styling and such.

I read an interesting tip a couple times in the last few weeks and decided to give it a try. And lo-and-behold, I think it's working!

It has to do with my hair. Unfortunately, I'm not one for putting much effort into styling my hair, and while it's finely textured, I have a lot of it. So it has had a tendency to be sort of a moppy, frizzy mess, kept out of my eyes with a headband. Now you know the whole truth. ;)

But the tidbits I read (probably in fashion magazines, since I have a few free subscriptions?) said to not use a regular towel on your wet hair. One of them actually recommended paper towels for short hair, but I've got way too much hair for that kind of environmental destruction. So lately I've been jumping out of the shower and going straight for my blow-dryer. Which then results in water droplets EVERYWHERE, but it's the price I was willing to pay to try the tip.

And what do you know? I think it sort of works! I've been drying it just to the point where it isn't dripping all over, then I stop to get dressed and do my face. Then I put on a bit of product and try to style it a bit while drying with my big round brush. It could be a placebo affect, but it seems to be less-frizzy and looking and feeling smoother to me!

I've read a few tips over the years, but this is the one I've been happiest with. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

I'll have to try that. I'm with you on the not girly thing. I just fix it once a day and if it works it works... if not oh well. I'm just not that into it.
