Sexy Saturday - PSA Edition

Dear Demi Lovato:

Your song, "Give Your Heart a Break," makes me scream at the radio. You say,
"The day I first met you
You told me you'd never fall in love
But now that I get you
I know fear is what it really was"
I realize you're young, but falling for this is complete bullshit. If someone tells you they won't love you, don't walk away - RUN! I don't personally know you, but everyone is at least a little loveable, to the right person. Don't waste your time trying to convince someone to love you. I don't care if they're 'damaged' or someone else hurt them. They are too much trouble for your young heart.

Listening to the words of pop songs today has resulted in more than a few brilliant statements to my kindergarten daughter that she doesn't understand now, but I hope she'll remember anyway. As much as it annoys me to say so, I like the words and sentiment behind Taylor Swift's 'Never, ever, ever getting back together' better than many. But don't make me actually listen to the song again. Please!

Too many people (women especially) want to 'rescue' their man, instead of just enjoying a full life with him. It's hard enough to sustain a successful relationship with someone who wants to be there, please don't try and force one on someone who says he doesn't want it.

Sincerely,

A Concerned Mom and Veteran of a few broken hearts

Yep, I agree. Teenage Dream by Katy Perry is another song that I dread Veronica listening to! I like pop music for the beat and catchy tunes. But sometimes the words really make me sick!
