Right Line of Work

As I watch gas prices skyrocket again, I'm very glad of hubby's company and job! He works on developing and implementing electric batteries for cars (I'm probably saying it wrong, but you get the idea). While there's plenty of discussion surrounding the idea of low cost electricity, it's got to be less expensive than gasoline lately, right?

I'm a little surprised that hubby's company is mostly German. It seems like the U.S. should be much more motivated to improve auto efficiency. Whenever we've visited Germany, there are a lot more people walking or using public transportation. I think my frame of reference is even more skewed since we live in the 'motor city' here. I can't imagine being without a car, and as gas prices increase, most people just grumble about it, but still need to keep driving. Go figure!
