Yay for Weekends!
As it gets colder, I can only assume the lovely pattern our weekends have ended up in this fall will have to change. Lately we've ended up out at my parents' house more often than not. Maggie loves running round their big yard and exploring all of Mimi's fun little birdhouses and lawn ornaments, and of course playing in the 'jungle' (an alcove of trees in the front yard). As evening falls, we're lucky my parents have one of those outdoor fireplaces. My dad will get a roaring fire going and we can all warm up and visit around the fire pit. The fire is enough warmth in the fall, but come winter we're going to find ourselves indoors much more.

There's nothing like a big roaring fire. Unless, of course, it's time spent with our grand daughters. We had a great time this weekend too.
Your mom's place really has a wonderful up north feel. What a great place for your little one to explore.
I'll be there next weekend! It sounds wonderful.
