I Thought I Liked Hallmark...

Advertising can really work. I can still hear the commercial from Hallmark years ago that said, "When you care enough to send the very best." I was a total sucker for that and frequently get Hallmark cards and trinkets instead of hitting the dollar store.

This was the case a year or so ago when I decided to get a new address book and enter all the addresses I had in a few different spots from the last few years. I was thrilled with my new little book, and it's been to Germany and back with me. As the holidays roll in, I've gotten change of address notices from quite a few people, or just hunted down the addresses of those I knew had moved. The address book originally came with two sheets of little stickers that completely cover the original address and give you a space to put the new one in instead of crossing it off. I remember my mom having a system like it when I was growing up.

Today I went out to get more of the nifty stickers so I could put all the addresses changes in my book. But Hallmark? According to two different stores, they're discontinuing that whole system, so the stickers are no longer available! Thanks for nothing. And by the way - the books are still on the shelves too. Don't get one of those if you think anyone you know might ever move!

That's a bummer. All that work for nothing. Hallmark seems to discontinue many of their programs. Thanks for the heads up.

I get tired of having to mark out people's old addresses, too, so earlier this year, I bought a little leather book that holds business cards. I bought some neat printable business card sheets, to print out addresses and names from my old excel sheets, and hopefully before the end of the year, I'll have a friends and family directory!(They have flower business cards at Office Max.)

or you could just take the little mailer stickers and write the info. It wouldn't have the cool lines and stuff, but it would be a clean surface

I have one of those address books too! I was to lazy to go look for those stickers I just put a mailing label (from work shhhh don't tell) over mine and then wrote the new address on that. Okay it doesn't look great but all I care about is if I can read it.
