My mom and I saw these sandhill cranes with their babies when we were out running errands a few weeks ago. They were right by the side of a service drive on our way to Target. I pulled over and snapped a few pictures.When we got ready to pull away, I didn't want to pull a u-turn right next to them, because I was afraid I'd startle them. I pulled into a parking lot nearby to turn around there. As I zipped through the parking lot, mom said, "Watch out for the...," then she trailed off and quietly said, "dove."
Luckily I hadn't quite driven over the dove, but since he lived, it became very hilarious that I almost killed the poor bugger because of our foray with nature.
