Thursday Thirteen - Eighth Edition

Today? Thirteen places I've visited that I'd recommend. Hubby and I travel quite a bit, and with the memory of Michigan winter fresh in my mind, I'm thinking this list will include a lot of sunshine ;)

  1. Freeport, Bahamas - Top of my list, right now. We visited friends there just a couple months ago. I didn't want to leave. :(
  2. Greenville, South Carolina - Where we're headed this weekend. We have friends here as well, and are headed down to visit, and go to a baby shower.
  3. Lippstadt, NRW, Germany (sorry, the Wiki page is in German...) - We actually 'lived' here for a couple months. It's a beautiful little city.
  4. Bachrach, Germany - This is actually where we took our long weekend 'vacation' during our stay in Germany. It's in the heart of the Rhineland - German wine making country.
  5. Caseville, Michigan - Hubby's family has a cottage here, right on the water. Many relaxing hours are spent here. If you're a Jimmy Buffett fan, be sure and catch the Cheeseburger festival. If you're not, be sure not to visit this weekend. Hahahaha...
  6. New Orleans, Louisiana - We went here over Easter weekend, 2004. It's the city where hubby first told me he loves me. :) So I drank a lot and told him I wanted to have his babies. And look how it all ended up. :) We haven't been back since the hurricane, but I'd love to go again someday.
  7. Paradise Island, Bahamas - Nassau was a port on our honeymoon cruise in 2006. Atlantis Resort was the trip I earned from PartyLite in 2004. Me and the island climate get along.
  8. Las Vegas, Nevada - Vegas, baby, Vegas! I'm actually not a gambler, but there's so much more to do in Vegas. Shows, bars, food, drink... Anyone can have fun in Vegas!
  9. Cedar Point Amusement Park, Ohio - I'm lucky enough to live just a few hours from the Roller Coaster Capital of the World. If you like roller coasters, check it out! I haven't been in a few years now, between back surgery and pregnancy, but I'll be back someday.
  10. Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida - Orlando, honestly, looks like every other tourist town, but I'm a sucker for Disney. Disneyworld in Florida is the only one I've been to, so it makes the list :)
  11. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina - Yet another road trip for hubby and I, this is where we spent Easter, 2005. I enjoyed walking along the beach, and out on the giant Apache Pier. And oddly, I love all the little tourist trap stuff.
  12. Niagra Falls, Canada - I can't even remember the first time I went to Niagra Falls. My parents have one of those 'going over the falls in a barrel' pictures with the whole family, and I was about seven or so in the picture. I've also taken friends from California to show them, and hubby and I stopped on our way back from somewhere else a couple years ago. If you can deal with the touristy-ness, it's a fun place. And we've already determined I can always deal with the tourtisty-ness. Hahaha...
  13. Kingston, Ontario - I can't tell you how it is here the rest of the year, but hubby and I have been to town a few times during the 1000 Islands Poker Run. Lots and lots of fun to be had then. A big part of the fun, I'm sure, is meeting up with the friends we generally only see there. Oh, or in Miami, which I forgot to list.

I LOVE Myrtle Beach! Must get back out there again soon. Vegas - ah yes. We've been 4 times and we're going back again in 30 days (not that I'm counting or anything....) You're so right about Vegas too - I thought I would hate it because I don't gamble. I couldn't have been more wrong!

I visited Greenville, SC once. I went on a tour to Bob Jones University. That is a beautiful campus!
