Always and Forever, Lara Jean - Book Review

Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han
Publication date: May 2, 2017
Pages: 320 pages
Genre: Contemporary Fiction, Young Adult, Asian-American
Rating: 4/5 stars ✰✰✰✰
Strengths: Continuing an engaging story with likable characters
Weaknesses: This is the last one?!? Saying good-bye to Lara Jean and the crew

Maybe I forgot how the other books got me in the feels, or maybe this one really is the best in the series. Our little Lara Jean is growing up!

While I'd bet this would read okay as a stand-alone, I really have enjoyed following Lara Jean and her friends and family through her high school years. She's one of the quiet ones, but now enjoying a different way of life as she dates one of the most popular boys in school. While her mother died years before, she and her two sisters still do things to celebrate their Korean heritage, and not forget that they're the 'Song girls.'

How will Lara Jean's high school years end? You'll have to read the book to find out! Or maybe eventually watch the movie? While the first two books are already available for viewing on Netflix, my daughter swears this one is in development currently. That would be cool. Overall, I'd give this book 4 out of 5 stars. I found it quite enjoyable and would recommend it.

I really want to read this series because I've enjoyed the Netflix movies so much. I'm so curious to see how they're similar or different.
