HoHoHo Readathon - Holiday Haiku Challenge

It's here! The 12th Annual HoHoHo Readathon!

I'm Becki - SweetlyBSquared - and I love reading and writing! (and exclamation points, apparently!) So my challenge to you is to write a Holiday Haiku.

To put it simply, a haiku is a Japanese poem made up of 17 syllables in three lines - 5 syllables in the first line, 7 syllables in the second line, and 5 syllables in the third line. Purists may add a few more rules, but this is all we're going to deal with ;) There's lots of examples online, but here are a few that I wrote:

The leaves are falling,
The temperature is dropping,
Winter is coming.

These kids don't listen,
They always do what they want,
Santa won't visit.

Daylight is now short,
The cold kills my energy,
Spring better come quick.

Okay. Apparently I have a bit of an attitude today. Yeah, probably everyday.
Anyone can share their haikus with me (and anyone else who stops by) in the comments.

If you want your haiku(s) entered to win a $15 Amazon card, you'll need to be a participant of the HoHoHo Readathon (please share your linky signup number in your comment so I know!).

The challenge ends Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

  7. here is my haiku about my favorite holiday things:
    Twinkling lights aglow,
    Warm cocoa, mulled wine flows—
    Winter's sweet embrace.
