Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday

So. Excited. Just taking a break from packing now...I'm leaving around 5AM for the Dove Chocolate Discoveries national conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! And I get to meet up with other friends in the area FIRST for dinner. The conference actually starts on Thursday.

Preparing to travel seem so much easier now than it did back when I was single and childless. I focused on it a lot then and had really high standards for what I 'needed' to have. Now that I really do need to pack so many things to take care of me and my daughter most of the time, when it's just me? It feels like a walk in the park! I can make do with a lot less if I have to ;)

I miss Maggie already, and I haven't even left yet :(

I've said it before, but I really don't think I'll start taking a bunch more pictures til I find a better way to sort and save them. We now have three folders on the laptop called 'Card Dump.' I like to have them saved with actual names so I can find them later, but it's so tedious! (Guess what I'm working on right now?)

Happy Birthday Maggie!!

My pride and joy is THREE! Her party was actually last weekend, since more family was available then.

Today she woke up and got upset when daddy left for work. "He should come to my party!" she said. He had woke her up by singing happy birthday, and she figured that meant it was her party all over again. I wish! I loved seeing how happy she was singing along with us at the party. It wasn't much of a surprise. A few times before now she's demanded that we sing happy birthday to everyone at the table when we're dining out. Apparently she really likes the song!

I love hearing her amazement with the new discoveries she makes each day.

Although it can get annoying, I love that she still loves my 'nursers' and tells me about how she used to nurse them when she was a little baby.

I love her attempts at playing hide-and-seek - using the same hiding spot each time we count, or sometimes just covering her eyes and assuming that means we can't see her :)

I love listening to her giggle while her daddy chases and tickles her with his 'inchworm' finger.

I love watching her try to cover up my anti-social cat like a baby. And I love that the cat sometimes goes along with it.

I love when she's working on something - like making seaweed soup - and says, "What we're gonna do..." and then, "Wait right here! I'll be right back!" (with her hand giving me a STOP motion).

I love how she introduces me to people when she makes new friends, or just sees someone we haven't seen in a while. "This is mommy."

And I love when she tries to make new friends. "My name is Maggie. What your name?"

I love when I call her Princess Maggie, and she calls me Princess Mommy in return.

Maggie Sue - you are the greatest source of joy in my life, and I'm thankful each day that you chose me as your mommy.

Fun in the Sun

While I'm not sure what it's doing for my aunt-of-the-year status, hubby and Maggie and I headed to the beach to meet friends today. Hubby had a little work to do first, so we didn't make it out as early as planned, but we still got enough sun and fresh air to totally zap my brain! Hahahaha....

The beach was at a provincial park in Canada, and wasn't very crowded at all. The water was shallow for quite a ways out, so the kids had a great time and lots of room to play without getting in over their heads. Maggie had fun in her little boat, but was really loving playing in the sand with her new toys, and of course making another batch of seaweed soup. Her friend Jake liked chasing the seagulls (luckily he didn't catch any!). Baby Finn started out the day crawling straight into the water til he was helped out sputtering a few times, until he learned to crawl to the edge of the water, catch the splash and crawl back to his mama - smart boy!

I went in the water a bit, played on the sand with the kids for a bit, and enjoyed relaxing in the sun. I can now see the sun was pretty consistently on my left side by the sunburn on that side of my body ;) Guess I'll spend the rest of the evening drinking lots of water and reading about the age spot removal I'll be needing in a few years! Oops!

I'm an Aunt Again!

Welcome Alexis!!

My second niece was born this morning (yes, not Tuesday - the day of the induction, but Wednesday) at 12:01 AM. I was hanging out at the hospital for a while on Tuesday, but left at around 11:30 PM as my sister-in-law was on her way back for a c-section. We didn't know then if the birthday would be Tuesday or Wednesday, since it was so close to midnight!

She was 7lbs 12 oz and 19.75 inches long at birth. Alexis and Mommy are doing fine, and Daddy and big sister O are very excited as well! Maggie, hubby and I can't wait to meet the new baby on Friday :)

19 July 2010

Looks Like Tomorrow!!

I'm going to be an aunt again! My brother and sister-in-law are having their second daughter tomorrow (actually, my sister-in-law will be responsible for most of the work tomorrow - I think that's why they call it 'labor'). As much as I enjoyed my pregnancy with Maggie (okay, I may have had a slightly greater need for acne medicine than usual), I feel bad that my sister-in-law has all the complications I avoid :( She's said giving birth is such immediate relief from all of the pregnancy side effects that she can't wait! And we can't wait to meet another adorable baby.

It may seem like I have a one track mind, but this reminds me of Maggie's birthday party again. She kept rubbing her aunt's tummy and waving to the new baby. I've been explaining to her about her new cousin who's in her aunt's tummy. On Saturday she asked her aunt if the baby could come out yet! Any day now, Maggie. Any day now.

Let Birthday Week BEGIN!!

This coming Friday, our baby girl will be three years old! While she decided long ago that her birthday party would be bugs, and would feature a ladybug pinata, it didn't all kick off til this weekend.

On Saturday we had most of the family and a few friends over for her primary birthday party. We did indeed feature ladybugs on the balloons, plates, cups and her cake, as well as her pinata. She got lots of great presents from everyone including a dress up set from Gigi that has some slippers (little plastic heels) she won't take off, a beautiful new bug quilt and pillow from Mimi that she just loves, some fantastic clothes both for now and the fall, and several new Barbie dolls (the 'Barbie' name used loosely, since her collection has Ariel and Belle, as well as dental hygienist Barbie and her patient, and mermaid Barbie).

After opening her big stack of presents inside, we headed outside to look at the one Aunt Alicia and Uncle Rob couldn't quite wrap up...
Luckily hubby got outside first and was able to get pictures of her first expression as she exclaimed, "My new bike!" Her reaction was adorable! Although she isn't getting the hang of the riding part at all yet, she loves the horn and asks during the day to go out to the garage just to beep her horn! Silly girl. I think someone suggested bringing the horn in the house - ummm....NO!

All in all, Maggie has had a great birthday weekend! I think I've got a few pictures of her singing along with the birthday song with everyone. I love watching her pick up on everyone else's social cues. She followed her friends' leads (thanks, Emma and Celia!) to know what to do with the loot from the pinata, how to pick and open her presents, and blowing out the candles on her cake (okay, I think she knew that one before!).

Happy Birthday to my very favorite girl in the world!!!

16 July 2010

Shopping Extravaganza!

Well, only two stores, but it would have yielded a big ole piece of paper from one epson receipt printer. I picked up lots of individual items to fill the pinata with. There will be four little girls and one little boy, so I was trying to get not all 'princess' stuff. And one of the little girls is two years younger than any of the others, so I couldn't get all 'preschool' stuff either. One girl is a few years older, but she'll have to suffer through with her little sister ;)

Besides a giant bag of dum-dum suckers, we got candy necklaces, candy watches, and candy sports bracelets. Happily, that's it for the tooth-rotting portion of our list. Then I got a dozen little animals, a dozen little insects, some of the rubberband bracelets, some 'attitude' bracelets (they have words like STAR and DREAMER on the thicker rubber bands), star wands, Maggie picked little kaleidoscopes, bouncy balls, bead necklaces, monster finger puppets and buckets for them to decorate with stickers and put all their loot in. The last item we got only one of - a 'Birthday Princess' tiara for our little birthday girl.

10 Random Things for Friday

  1. I have killer cramps today. It sucks enough to 'know' I'm not pregnant for now, do I have to feel physically miserable too?
  2. In spite of the cramps, I have A LOT of stuff I want to get done in the next hour or so (once Maggie falls asleep) to get ready for her birthday party tomorrow! Her birthday is a week from today, but her party (with our immediate family and a couple of same-age friends for her) is tomorrow.
  3. I've already hit the first bonus level for my chocolate business this month. Yay! This means I know I'm making 30% of everything I sell for the rest of the month.
  4. I'm also very excited to have an appointment on Monday to get my hair done. I think last October was the last time I had it done. I trust Jaclyn to do something spiffy, but I'm thinking cut and color.
  5. It kind of peeves me that people will assume I'm going gray since I want to get my hair colored, when in reality I'm not. I just want to do something different. No one questioned me when I was 15 - it's the same idea for me now.
  6. In two weeks I will be in Philadelphia at the Dove Chocolate Discoveries National Conference. Super yay!!
  7. I think I should put shoes on instead of flip-flops before I attempt to climb a ladder and move the tree swing. Just seems like a good idea.
  8. I loved an idea I heard at sales training last month - to make 'to-do' lists that are actually able to be completed. Great idea, but my list for today and tomorrow is still growing :(
  9. Blogging is something on my list, honest.
  10. Playing Bejeweled Blitz is not, unfortunately.

Two More In (But Not Another Win)

You know how you feel the day after Christmas - when all the build-up and preparation you thought was so important is rendered useless? Yesterday I entered my two chocolate shows from the weekend, and now I feel adrift. I figured I'd feel up still if I won another iPad, but no dice, unfortunately.

I did get the satisfaction of the shows (mostly) balancing. It's so hard servicing a bunch of customers as quickly as possible and maintaining accuracy. Sometimes they write down a different price than the item they want lists, or sometimes I figure their total or tax wrong. There's usually something wrong, but I hate to bother people and tell them I'm an idiot and screwed up their order, so I usually just eat it if I shorted myself a bit. And if they paid over, luckily so far they've paid by credit card. Sometimes I wish we had POS systems so everyone could just scan what they wanted and all my paperwork would be magically right :) Maybe they could easily save their wish lists too, like when you register for a baby or wedding at a major department store? Although I'd just have to scan the whole catalog! Hahahaha...

We'll have so much fun and become lifelong friends....

The TT questions are brought to you by Bud, the color of Jupiter's third moon and the number 3,333,333.

1. Billy Mays died about a year ago. What kitchen gadgets have you bought that you've used less than three times? What are they?
Hmm...probably several, but I'm more likely to buy em at a home show, where I later discover that I am only inspired watching someone else using said tool. I have one of those super sharp mandolin cutting things I imagined I'd use all the time....I don't think I've used it yet. I also love my cookie press, but I think I've used that about three times.

2. What celebrity would you like to shake some sense into, and why?
I can't think of a stupid celebrity worth the effort.

3. Jimmy Buffett just did on concert to benefit the victims of the Gulf. Name a Buffett song that you like.
I think most of them are worth drinking to, but hubby hates em all, so I don't hear many all the way through.

4. How did you feel about Ringo Starr turned 70?
Didn't even know.

5. What sport do you absolute see no point in watching?
My first instinct is to say fishing, but I try to find the entertainment in whatever I'm forced to watch (and thinking of watching fishing reminds me of Brian Regan's skit on it, and that makes it amusing after all).

6. Trivia time. Do you know the first names of the French twins? Huh. I don't even have any idea who you're talking about.

7. You are in the best seafood restaurant in Canada. What type of meat do you order?
Possibly what the waiter or waitress recommends.

8. How far would an electric car have to go without a recharge before you'd buy one?
I like the car I've got, so a new one doesn't hold much appeal, whether or not it's electric.

9. Did you see that a high court ruled that you can swear on regular TV? What word can you just not wait to hear?
I wish the ruling had come in time for Jack Bauer to say something other than 'damnit' when everything goes wrong :D

10. You are in the finest steak and rib joint in Kimberville (Arizona). What seafood dish do you order?
I'm feeling pretty wishy-washy today. I'd probably ask the waiter or waitress again.

11. What was the last concert that you attended that really sucked? I don't go to many concerts, so luckily nothing comes to mind.

12. What type of accent would you like to have, if you were forced to change yours?
I don't have an accent - I'm from the midwest. ;)

13. Kimber's got four kids with chicken pox. Berleen is not feeling the love today, so I was asked to host. What do you miss most when neither originator of TT is asking the questions?
I don't have the attention span to participate regularly, so I don't really know the difference. :hide:

Planning a Big Trip?

I was talking to one of my chocolate party hostesses the other day about a big trip she's considering planning. Her family is considering going to Alaska with their RV, or getting to Alaska and then renting an RV to travel around and see parts of the state. I felt like I was knowledgeable to converse on the subject, although the trip was nothing I'd tackle on my own (especially as a parent of a toddler!).

My parents started off my dad's retirement with an RV trip to Alaska. They spent months planning their route, reading websites and magazines about other peoples' trips, checking the legality of driving through Canada for part of their trip (what could they bring - or not bring - across the border), looking into 5th wheel warranty information, and even stuff that may seem petty like what different weather and stuff they'd be dealing with. And even with all the preparation, every trip still has its unique surprises!

We still talk about my parents' three-month journey to and back from the great beyond. They saw a lot of things that I'll probably never see other than through their eyes. I think every time someone visits their house, they spend at least a few minutes watching the pictures go by on their digital picture frame. It's stuff you just don't see anywhere else! I'm glad they brought the memories and pictures back to share with us!

Yum!

I don't have a lot of good eating days, but today was one! Although I didn't have the cinnamon rolls I was dreaming of for breakfast, I did finally get to enjoy the toast with Cheez Whiz that I've been wanting for as long as I can remember. That was chased down with a lovely mid-morning snack of raspberries for me (along with blueberries and carrots for Maggie).

Lunch was good, but not quite my favorite, variety of pizza. If it's just up to me, I usually go for mushrooms and bacon, but today there were four of us so I suggested plain pepperoni to be agreeable. I did get the butter cheese crust, though - yum!

Dinner was my favorite - you know - anything made by someone else! Tonight's version of my favorite was dinner during a business meeting at one of my favorite steakhouses. I ate every bite, but somehow forgot to have one of my favorite rolls with cinnamon butter - I have no idea how I forgot that!!

Now I'm washing it all down with some Dove Dark Chocolate and Mint baking bits. (And I should go with a quick dose of phentramine so I can do it all again!! Hehehehe)

Random Tuesday Thoughts

I think my headache is wanting to come back again with all the changing weather (it's finally cooling off here again!). Last time it went away when I drank about a ton of water, but today? I'm not thirsty for water. Yeah, whine much?

And speaking of whining, it's starting to look like rain outside. I don't like driving in the rain :( Hopefully either: A) hubby can make it home from work in time to come with us to my meeting, or B) it doesn't rain after all.

Okay. Option A may still be available, but option B has been negated by the thunder and splashing outside my window :(

I am looking forward to dinner tonight. The meeting I'm attending is held at one of my favorite steakhouses. :) I love me some steak! And salad. And probably some sort of potato on the side. And the yeast rolls with cinnamon butter! Oh yeah.

I'm also excited for tomorrow. I get to enter my chocolate shows from the weekend since the checks from customers will finally have cleared my account. Think I can win another iPad. My mom says yes. And my mom always tells me the truth, right?

12 July 2010

Things You Dread....

I still haven't called to make my six-month follow up appointments from the spring. In October or November, I need to see both of my cardiologists (okay, one of those is already scheduled) and the dentist. And I need to schedule the cardiologist before the dentist so I can ask if I need pre-med again before the dentist appointment. The cardiologist I still need to schedule with is almost as hard as calling for health insurance quotes. No one has STILL called me back from my last message to their office in May (I don't think they will anymore ;) ).

Ouch!

I wish I knew how it was I slept wrong that some days my back is so awful when I first wake up! This morning I just threw a pack of fruit snacks at Maggie as her first 'course' of breakfast. I can't stand long enough to do much else, or reach anything because of my current inability to bend. Ouch! Now I'm just sitting on my yoga ball hoping these silly discs and vertebrae go back where they should be so I can get on with my day....

My Water Baby

We just got back from a super fun afternoon at a friend's BBQ and pool party. Maggie had a great time in the water! I wasn't sure at first, as most of the pools she's been to have been the community in-ground ones where you can sort of walk in. At our friend's above-ground pool she was in someone's arms or on a beach float someone was holding the whole time. She and daddy went in before we ate, and she made a new friend (the 17-year-old daughter of another friend) who she coaxed to take her back after we ate. That's my charming girl! I really liked the set up at my friend's. You don't expect the yard to be that big when you first arrive, but the pool was back behind the garage. Luckily there were a few smokers who aren't into the electronic cigarettes yet, so they stood alongside the garage and could see that my little girl wasn't hanging around the pool when we weren't with her. I'm so glad Maggie enjoyed the water so much :)

Yay - Success!!

I know this is a lot about my business success lately, but I'm so happy my hubby got to have a good day out on his boat today. It's been a long time coming, and the boat has given him more than a little frustration over the last few years. Today - he got to go on a boat run with some really fun people, meet up with lots of our friends, and the trailer tires stayed intact (if only this were less of a surprise!) and the engines ran great!

When he can come home with no more damage than a bit of sunburn and a few plastic knobs shaken loose at the fun speeds, the day is definitely a big success!

Sunday Stealing (yes, even a day early!)

Today's meme is ripped off from a blogger named Kuda Girl of the blog named Kuda Girl's Journal. Kuda Girl explains that she ripped it from two bloggers Slay Me Softly and Dragon Fly Lady. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. It has 65 questions, so we'll do it in parts. Link back to Sunday Stealing!

Sunday Stealing: Meme Of Many Odd Questions, Part One

Cheers to all of us thieves!

1. First thing you wash in the shower? My eyes. I put on the makeup remover before I get in, and wipe it off with the wet washcloth once I get in the shower.

2. What color is your favorite hoodie? White. And it says 'Maggie's Mommy' in big letters.

3. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again? That would be Maggie, and I'll do it again a hundred times a day :)

4. Do you plan outfits? Yes.

5. How are you feeling RIGHT now? Guilty of wasting time when I should get ready for everything else I need to accomplish today!

6. What's the closest thing to you that's red? My 'Booking Lead Calls' folder.

7. Tell me about the last dream you remember having? That I'll confess to? ;) I don't really remember many of my dreams. Sorry!

8. Did you meet anybody new today? Nope.

9. What are you craving right now? Nothing.

10. Do you floss? Yes.

11. What comes to mind when I say cabbage? Just cabbage...

12. Are you emotional? Only on the inside.

13. Have you ever counted to 1,000? Not sure...Not that I remember.

14. Do you bite into your ice cream or just lick it? Bite it. Otherwise I'm too slow and it melts all over. I hate that.

15. Do you like your hair? Not really. It's at that horrible in-between length.

16. Do you like yourself? Yup.

17. Would you go out to eat with George W. Bush? Nah. I'm too busy to keep up with my real friends - why add a stranger to the commitment list?

18. What are you listening to right now? The clothes dryer and the tv down the hall.

19. Are your parents strict? Hard to say. I'm 38, so no one really tells me what to do anymore ;)

20. Would you go sky diving? Probably not. There are a lot of other things I'd rather spend my money on first.

21. Do you like cottage cheese? Yup.

22. Have you ever met a celebrity? Local celebs a few times, but no one 'really' famous!

Healthy Me!

I know we've talked about my atrocious eating habits, but I'm still kicking (even though I just had a chocolate cookie for dinner - at 10:30 at night...).

Sometimes it's amazing I've made it this long :( But as I've gotten older, I finally need to eat breakfast. It used to be my most-skippable meal. Now I get up and have a piece of cinnamon sugar toast (although I've been wanting some Cheez Whiz lately) and a full glass of water while I take my prenatal vitamins and my 81mg heart-healthy aspirin. Don't worry - I eat much better when I'm actually pregnant, I just keep taking the vitamins as long as it's a possibility!

At least I tend to make up for my skipped meals. I think tomorrow I'll have a fish filet and some corn for lunch. YUM!! And maybe another of those cookies ;)

10 Random Things for Friday

  1. I think I like the Double Chocolate Chip Cookie dough best, but the Truffle Fudge Dark Chocolate Cookies best when cooked. Complicated.
  2. I'm really tired, but I'm still unwinding from all of my excitement today - I got GREAT news this morning, then had a super-fun show tonight.
  3. I WON AN IPAD THIS MORNING!!!! Thank you, Dove Chocolate Discoveries!
  4. I am a total nerd when it comes to direct sales. I love the business end of it. I don't think that's the most common reason for doing direct sales.
  5. We've got a fun weekend planned! I have yet another chocolate show tomorrow, then Sunday we're going to a friend's BBQ.
  6. Next week I have no chocolate shows, so I may be able to try and work on the office again. For the record, it does get a little more picked up each time I have a couple days...
  7. I'm getting really excited about chocolate conference at the end of the month. And seeing SA again. We always have fun together :)
  8. Did I mention that I won an iPad this morning??? Oh, yeah, I guess I did :P
  9. As much as I love the money from selling chocolate, I think the recognition and sense of accomplishment may be worth even more. Just sayin...
  10. Hopefully I'll use some of my 'down-time' next week to try and work more on my pictures and my photo blog too. I think it would make me happy.

An Unending Obsession

Every once in a while, I almost feel left out. It seems people are always talking about what they're doing to lose weight. Yesterday at my chocolate party, several of the guests were asking me, "How can you be so skinny with all that chocolate?" Seriously? I don't eat a lot. I never have. There is a long list of things I'd rather do with my time and money than eat. Apparently it hasn't made the list of diets that work, but there it is. I'm not sure what I could say to make them feel better, and still buy my chocolate. There's no reason not to trust a skinny chocolatier! It's just how nature made me (thanks, mom!).

Gratitude

I like to feel grateful. It's a happy, contented sort of feeling. The other day, as I heard my husband sneeze (darn allergies!), I thought of something really weird that I'm grateful for.

I'm really grateful that I didn't stay with the ex-boyfriend with completely disgusting, nasty sneezes. They were juicy, chunky, pull-the-car-over-cuz-he-can't-sneeze-and-drive-at-the-same-time sneezes. Hopefully, you've never experienced this level of grossness. Really.

I don't recall if it was just when he had an exceptionally bad cold, or if it was every single time he sneezed. I'm just glad I'm not anywhere near him now, and I'll hopefully never see another sneeze like that in my lifetime.

Some Days....

Some days, I miss my old jobs.
Some days, I miss calling people to remind them to pay the mortgage they agreed to only months before, but haven't bothered to make a full payment on.
Some days, I miss reading the handwriting of seventh graders and trying to make sense of it, especially when it's telling me totally different information than they've been asked.
Some days, I miss trying to figure out how to make a family's income stretch to meet the payment arrangements I've been able to set up for them.
Some days, I miss ranking search terms and changing their bids by pennies to get the most bang for the company's buck.
Some days, I miss planning a staff meeting for 50 who won't appreciate it anyway (okay, that one I really don't miss...).
Some days, I miss reading doctor's handwriting to decipher, correct the spelling, and enter histories with weird words and acronyms like COPD, pronexin, and penicillin.
Some days, I miss having somewhere I'm expected, if not fully needed from 9 to 5.

Today isn't one of those days. :) I'm loving spending the days with my adorable daughter, and spending just a few evenings a month going out and sharing chocolate, and making cash doing it. Some days, life is good. This is one of those days.

Weekend Recap

So this already feels like a pretty lame-o post to me, but it's been almost a week since I've posted again! This summer is full of rushing around, it seems. Keep up this pace and I certainly won't need hcg diet info!

We left for the cottage up north last Friday morning. It was a pretty round-a-bout trip to get there, since we stopped a half hour from home for a funeral and luncheon. We arrived at the cottage in time for dinner in town. Yum, pizza!

Saturday we mostly just relaxed around the cottage. Maggie loved being walked up and down the beach in her little inflatable boat. That night was the fireworks at the county park in town. Maggie almost chickened out (she was asking to watch them from the car), but a friend who arrived to town was able to distract her and have her enjoying the show by the end!

Sunday we took the boat to a little island dinner. The boat ride was a little scary a few times, since the channel to the island wasn't really deep enough for our boat! It was a close call, but we made it out and home just before dark.

Monday we took a loooonnnngggg walk down the beach to get ice cream at the camp store. Unfortunately we arrived almost an hour before the ice cream window opened! On a holiday weekend? That bad-boy should have been open 24/7! Oh well. We'd originally planned to stay the night and drive home from the cottage on Tuesday, but we got everything done we needed to and headed home Monday night. It was a little after midnight by the time we got in - good thing Tuesday was already crossed off the books and we could get the last of our relaxing in :)

01 July 2010

Am I the Only One?

This week is flying by in a very confusing way! We were out late Sunday night for the fireworks, and I feel like I've been trying to get back in the game ever since.

Monday I can't remember anything. Really. I'm sure we did something, but it's already escaped me what that may have been.

Tuesday we went to music class and got their late because Maggie slept in. Super slept in - like I had to wake her up at 10 AM when we were supposed to be in the car and hurry our butts out the door! Then we went for lunch at IKEA and came home. We were supposed to go grocery shopping but I just wasn't up for it. That night we went to Mimi and Papa's for dinner, then to the playground for ice cream. Yay!

Wednesday (that was yesterday, right?), we had a chocolate delivery to make, then fit another chocolate delivery in before heading to the library (mostly so mommy will have books to read this weekend), then finally doing the grocery shopping.

Today we had a doctor's appointment this morning that we ended up not really needing. Now I'm getting ready for a chocolate party tonight, and hopefully while I'm there hubby will go do a pick up for my chocolate business (how's that for multi-tasking?).

Tomorrow we'll be hitting the road early. Since it's on the way to the cottage, hubby will be dropping us off at Mimi and Papa's house while he goes to a funeral. I'd have preferred to take my time packing tomorrow and head to the cottage on Saturday (because I'm some sort of freak and prefer my own bathroom fixtures, lotions and such, and always forget something VITAL), but I'm sure I'll enjoy the extra vacation time anyway. Even, or is it especially? with my short boss along :)
